They do say the menu itself is a catch-22 as there are loads of great options. However, the waiter was brilliant and suggested this wonderful filet mignon with lobster - yes, surf and turf! - and it was delicious!! The mac & cheese was also amazing, a must-have! I'll definitely go again and I strongly recommend it! It was worth... More

What a delightful experience. This was just my second day in the US from Sydney, Australia and my first visit to Chicago. I was staying in the Renaissance Hotel next door and decided to go to Catch 35 on a recommendation. The service, attention and friendly nature of the staff was highly professional. We chose to have a mix of... More

If the seafood was any fresher you'd have to swim next to it! Great drinks (get the pomegranate mojito), apps (sashimi, calamari), entrees (poke, crab cakes, whitefish) and dessert (sticky toffee pudding), wine selection...it's the total package. Service is top notch, lively but quiet enough to actually have a conversation. Love it!! It's not a trip to Chicago without a... More

I liked this place! It was an unexpected find - located right next door to The Renaissance Hotel on Wacker. No doubt the seafood is excellent. There was a wonderful selection and appeared to be well prepared but that's not what I wanted. I wanted a booth under a light so I could read my new Vanity Fair. I wanted... More

Went there with out of town guests on a Saturday night because it was close to where they were staying...was not a destination spot for us. Anyway, here's the short on the food : thin, tasteless lukewarm chowder, limp salad, and small expensive entrees...so unremarkable I don't recall what anyone had...maybe I had Halibut. The place is really dated and... More

We just happened upon this place and it was a good one! It was an hour before they were to close and we would not have known by the staff. Very good food and good atmosphere.

The salad Nicoise was marvelous. A generous portion of perfectly cooled (rare) yellowtail tuna topped the traditional salad ingredients. Accompanied by a well-seasoned Dijon dressing, this was the perfect lunch. The staff kept our water glasses full and didn't mind when we lingered for an extended conversation.

Nice ambiance and good location but expensive. The tomato salad was so drenched in vinegar I had to send it back. The wild Salmon was just okay but the presentation was poor. The fish was plopped on a bed of couscous with roasted vegetables that were so small they were hard to find. Not worth the high cost.

We were in Chicago for a week about 2 years ago, found Catch 35 near the end of that week and thought it was great - so we decided to go again this visit. We were in Chicago for 4 nights and ate here every night! Every dish we had was delicious. The "fish and chips" was the best we... More

Went on a Monday night. It was quiet but still plenty of customers. The menu is varied and interesting. Good service, even found white sugar in the end! Worth a visit.
