Feels like an older generation steak house, with dark wood and Kelly green decor- and it is one of the city's first. But the food is top-knotch. Portions are generous- the wait staff even warned us that we might be ordering too much food! Go hungry!

My wife and I decided to eat here because of her brother positive experience. Reading reviews I nearly changed my mind. We are from out of state so decided we had to try it. Everyone in restaurant if friendly and patience with explaining the menu. Especially difference in wet, dry etc on steak. The 1/2 shrimp cocktail was 7 huge... More

I had the dryaged, short bone ribeye. It was really good. I had mine cooked medium-rare and my husband had the same cut cooked medium - I couldn't believe the DG labor difference - mine was better imo. The side dishes we chose were the Russ's fries and the Mac and cheese. Both were bland. My husband thought it might... More

It is sad to see this restaurant going low in the Tripadvisor ranking, far below many places where de low quality of food and service is totally right to get them deep in the far bottom of the list. But Chicago Chop House remains as one of the best places for dryaging steaks in Chicago, that make justice the city`s... More

I loved the customer service there however, I didn't enjoy the food that much. Salad was yummy but had too much dressing. The only one food that I loved was sautéed mushroom and sautéed spinach. I don't know about the beef in Chicago. I went to some places for eat steak but I never felt it was tasty. It was... More

Had heard about this place for years, but had never been there until a recent business trip to the Chicago area. Stopped in fairly early on a weeknight, and there were only two other tables occupied at the time we were seated. Oh no, have I fallen for the hype of this place's reputation? We were seated and drink orders... More

For years the Chicago Chop House was our place to go for special birthdays and anniversaries. Always expensive, but wonderful food and crisp, polite service. It appears to have been sold to a different owner a few years back. Prices have skyrocketed, service is stuffy, and many patrons look as though they "cash only" Eastern European businessmen. Plenty of excellent... More

Our food was decent but extremely over-priced. The price of their wine was outrageous! When our Arrogant Server brought my caprese salad, He at that time took my husbands salad fork away? The only thing we can think of why he would do such a thing, there must be a no sharing policy? Which was not our intent to share... More

Had dinner here, loved the atmosphere and the live pianist. My lobster bisque was the best i ever tasted and my wetaged ribeye cooked medium was absolutely amazing! Would definitely come here again. Worth every penny!
