Kelly is amazing with his ability to craft high quality cocktails. The vibe is refreshing and the style is minimalist chic. I love this place and can't wait to come back

Recently stopped in with a friend for a late evening drink and snack. Enjoyed the vibe, the drinks, and the food. One warning though, the chorizo stuffed dates have one heck of a kick. Enjoyed chatting with the bartenders and I believe the chef while we finished our bottle of wine toward evening's end. Look forward to my return visit... More

After a long day of sightseeing, we stopped here for a drink and snack before dinner. We split a carafe of rose and had the charred asparagus with romesco and pickled ramps (a nice, fresh special) and bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with chorizo in roasted pequillo pepper tomato sauce (AMAZING!). Next time we will go for dinner so we can try... More

A recent turn of events puts me blocks away from the crazy delicious food and inspired wine list. Despite lots of restaurant options, I keep selecting avec for business and personal dinners. And they keep delivering the magic. If you've been, you agree. If you haven't, you should visit. It will however make every other restaurant dull, flavorless and forgettable.... More

A unique dining experience, amazing food.you cannot make reservations and the food has outstanding. The focacia bread with cheese was tasty, chorizo sausages wrapped in bacon, handmade vegetarian pasta. Great ambience and friendly, caring and attentive staff. This was recommended by the concierge at the hotel we stayed in.

We listened to the TripAdvisor reviews and got here early. Our waitress was very helpful and efficient. We had a number of different plates (tapas) and enjoyed every one. Since all of their wines are from boutique wineries, I relied upon our waitress's recommendation. She asked what we like and then suggested a wine from Spain. She was right on.... More

I was traveling in Chicago (where I often go on business) and decided to try this place because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. I went early - about 6:00 pm - and there seemed to be a strong, after work, happening place sort of vibe about it. As you walk in, a long metal (zinc?) bar is on the left,... More

An evening at Avec is a truly an experience! They don't take reservations, so you wait. It's not large, so it's highly likely you'll do like us and enjoy wine standing next to barrels under big umbrellas on the sidewalk. We were there on a Saturday night, so our group of four waited outside from 7:45 to 9:15 - but... More

Be warned: expensive but worth a visit for the experience. Make a reservation. Items worth trying: 1. Chorizo stuffed dates wrapped w/bacon; comes with a chili sauce (savory, sweet and finishes with a kick) 2. Paella (good but still doesn't hold a candle to ones in Spain) 3. Pappardelle pasta with mushroom bolognese (must like mushrooms to appreciate) I could've... More
