A Taste of Italy Far From Home

Slightly off the beaten path (about a 5 minute cab ride from the majority of the hotels in the Michigan Ave area) and miles away from the everyday Americanization of the Italian food culture lies Coco Pazzo, a diamond of the first water, even in the luscious world of Chicago cuisine. The food was very good, but the temperature in the dinning room was uncomfortably hot. Made it hard to enjoy the meal. We also had the misfortune of sitting near the kitchen where servers came sprinting past our table. When our food arrived it was unceremoniously plopped onto the table.

Coco Pazzo is a very good Italian restaurant, with particularly good service (efficient, and friendly). I have eaten there a number of times over the years, and rarely been disappointed. Every once in a while I find a dish over-salted, or perhaps just a small notch below greatness, which is why I gave it four stars rather than five. But... More

Lived in Chicago all my life - and if it wasn't for Restaurant Week - I would have never found this wonderful haven. Went for lunch with a friend, totally classy atmosphere and the service was stupendous. BUT the food.... wow... get the chocolate cake dessert - like a little piece of heaven!

The menu items were all named Italian names, with English descriptions, a little intimidating. The wait staff was very attentive, friendly and informative about the menu. Busy, fun place to have dinner. We found it on Open Table and were very happy with our choice.

We like to bring out of town guests here for a nice dinner. We can count on the food and service to be very good and the atmosphere is relaxing. Start your meal by sharing the Antipasti Misti. My favorite Secondi is Costoletta di Vitello. Our most recent visit was on New Years Eve, the decor was festive and they... More

This is an easy choice when your dining choice is Italian. It's cozy atmosphere is very friendly and inviting. I've never had bad service at this restaurant. The wine list is lovely and the food is amazing. Reminds me of meals I had while traveling in Italy. In the summer, they do offer seating out on the side walk (tables).
