Worth the long wait!

Our group of four went to Gino's River North on a Thursday night around 8:30. The hostess told us it would be a 45-minute wait so we sat at the bar. I tried a flight of four Gino's private label beers and they were all really good, especially the lager. At the 40-minute mark, we checked with the... read more

Perfect Chicago deep dish pizza. They make you wait an hour for it but it's well worth the wait. Loved the pear cider too

Delicious! Loved the deep dish and thin crust pizzas at Gino's East! Friendly server, fast service, nice selection of wines and great pizza!

I tried a few of the different well known deep dish places while in Chicago this was my favorite! I wasn't disappointed by the others but this would be my #1 choice from now on. The crust is different from the others I had and the sauce was awesome. Also the mozzarella sticks were the best ever.. they are handmade... More

It was the second time that I visited Chicago at the time, but for real before noticed the place that is a little hide because of the giant library, the Deep Dish is perfect, how can I describe something that in 7 days of travel I visited three times.

We stopped at Gino's because our daughter wanted pizza - she never experienced deep dish so she instantly turned her nose up when it arrived (she's 9 and from NYC, go figure). After some coaxing we got her to use a fork and knife to whittle off a bite. 15 minutes later she had demolished 2 slices - not an... More

I'm on a hunt for the best deep dish so I had to try Gino's to see the hype. We loved the pizza! Our server was kind enough to suggest ordering halves of the special pizzas and saved us on ordering WAY too much! We ordered the Spinach Sticks as an appetizer which were a good alternative to cheese sticks.... More

They had no problem accommodating my large group with excellent deep dish pizza and dessert. There's a downstairs (which is usually packed), and an upstairs (virtually empty) for you to eat in. Bring a sharpie so you can graffiti the wall (totally encouraged). The food was plentiful, the wait staff attentive, and there was no hustle-hustle to get you out,... More

The charm of Gino's East to me was writing on the walls. We used to love visiting the Rolling Meadows location before the land was sold and it was shut down. The pizza here is still very good, but the restaurant lacks that old charm I remembered.

Geno's East is our favorite deep dish pizza whenever we visit Chicago. It has a fabulous corn crust and heavy on the ingredients. Expect an hour delay for this yummy pie to be prepared and worth the wait? We arrived at 6:30 PM on a Friday night and had to wait an hour before seating although we were able to... More
