I prefer it over Giordano's

The pizza has a little bit more spice and kick than Giordano's - it's not too strong, just different. My family is split, but I lean toward Gino's. Pizza does take a while to cook, so don't be surprised if it takes you an hour or two to eat when you arrive (typically 45min wait, 15min to order... read more

The deep dish is worth the wait at this classic Chicago pizza joint! The waiter said that we could order half one style and half of another so we ordered two different kind of meat specials. Every bite was delish and the crust was amazing!

Traveling to Chicago several times each year, we've checked out numerous pizza places, but hands down for value, quality and service Gino's newest location is tops. Portions are huge, as noted by many, but still a surprise. Took the full 45 minutes as server Tommy stated, but he checked back numerous times before good arrived, and while eating. Food was... Hearing the tasty stories of Chicago deep dish pizza, we braved the cold and ordered Gino's. Sadly, we were underwhelmed. The crust was not doughy; instead it was crisp, kind of like a cracker. The sauce lacked flavor, although the cheese was gooey. Not sure if they just had an off night but it doesn't necessarily inspire us to return.

Had some time before my flight so I stopped in to satisfy my Chicago pizza craving. Dana was very nice, engaging in conversation and provided some options that worked out well. Just a note that you will need some time as it takes 45 minutes to cook your pie if you are having pizza. There are many adult beverage options... More

Very busy, had to wait about 15 minutes but that's the norm. We were advised it takes about 45 - 50 minutes to cook a Chicago pizza so we ordered some entrees to keep us going. They came out and looked more like a main meal!!!! they were huge!! Chicken strips (which came with fries!) and chips and dips. We... More

This was a must visit place for my boys after watching "man v food" Chicago episode (watch it on YouTube if you haven't seen it before visiting Chicago). Good deep pan pizza pie but expect to queue for a table. We built our own based on bacon and chicken. The base here was nicer than Lou Malnatis (see previous review)... More

It was my first time having real Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, so I had to do it right. Really enjoyed Gino's East. It took about a half hour for a table, but we went at prime dinner time. We ordered the deep dish pizza and they tell you it will take about an hour in a half, they are not... More

Loved the atmosphere. Staff very friendly. We used a coupon in one of the books and got free breadsticks. We also got an arugula mozarella salad that was the best and enough for two people. The manager came out and chatted with us becasue he did not like the way the pizza had rasied and put another one in for... More
