Was here as part of a large group and we had deep dish pepperoni and sausage. It was pretty good, lots of sauce, but the crust is what makes this pizza different. I was expecting more after all the hype, but came away with just an ok feeling about the food. The building itself was old and pretty neat. I... More

We were part of a large group so had to wait quite a while. The personnel at the front door were not that friendly. However, we were set up in private room with amazing waiters who were attentive and very helpful. Most of the group dined on pizza, both the amazing deep dish as well as the regular. All said... Gino's East has long been my favorite Chicago deep dish pizza. This was my first visit to their new location at 500 N. LaSalle. While it is missing the charm of the original location (writing on the walls, etc...), it is a great space with friendly servers, a great craft beer list, my favorite pizza, and you can make reservations!... Long wait time on an early Saturday afternoon. Pizza was good. Not sure what took so long that day. Probably would look elsewhere next time.

We were told by the people in line that Geno's East was an icon in downtown Chicago. It was crowded so we had to wait awhile. The inside is very unique. It is common for people to write their name and/or message on the walls, seats, or wherever you can find a place. We had an appetizer that was good.... More

Was in Chicago for a couple of nights and was desperate to try true deep dish pizza. Sat by the bar, watched some sports on one of the many big screens and ordered a deep dish. Very tasty, trust me when I say they are very filling. If you're in Chicago, and want deep dish, drop into Gino's and enjoy!

The pizza here was decent but nothing spectacular. This was my first experience with a Chicago Deep Dish and it did not live up to expectations. The pizza was served cold and the two app's we ordered were sub par as well. Next time I'm in Chicago I will try one of the other "famous" pizza places like Giordano's.

We were visiting Chicago with someone who had not been to Chicago before, so we were going to introduce them to deep dish pizza. Our local friend recommended her number one place, but she warned us that it could be crowded and Gino’s East River North would be a reasonable Plan B. After our flight landed and we checked in... Loved the service, from the hostess, to the manager, to the waiter. We ordered a frozen pizza the day before to travel home with us after a great weekend in Chicago, but when we came to pick it up, it wasn't quite ready so we were asked to come back a bit later to enjoy a round of free drinks...
