Another great meal!

Everyone we are in Chicago we visit Bandera. The food is consistently exceptional and a great value. The service was very good as well. If you plan to go make sure and make a reservation as the average wait for dinner is 30-60 minutes.

It is 90 degrees here and feels like 100. Yet I waited forever before the wait staff ever came over to the table to get our order, let alone provide any water. Very disappointing. Likewise I left the name of the guest whom I was meeting with the hostess, yet when he arrived 5 minutes later - they were clueless... More

Easily the best french dip I've had. My wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere with the light jazz music playing in the background. The staff was nice. Location was great for an evening stroll afterwards. We plan on making a return trip!

The menu consists of an interesting mix of dishes that do not disappoint. The restaurant is casual and well-located and, while being on the tourist trail, seems to have a good mix of locals and visitors.

Always consistent food and service! A great hidden gem in downtown Chicago. The smoked salmon appetizer is fantastic... I accompanied it with the macho salad... To die for!!!! Oh even better, they don't charge a corkage fee; literally had the best dinner for under 100$ in downtown Chicago!

This place is amazing! It is an absolute must when visiting Chicago, great location and wonderful food! One of the perks of the summer is you wont have to wait long for a table as you would in high season, waits gets as long as 3 hrs. Food is amazing! The staff is impeccably trained; you are in for a... More

It's Sat in Chicago and our group of 6 wanted something nice for late lunch. Trotted "up to" yes up the escalator, to second floor of building. Inside the heavy, wooden doors awaits a FABULOUS restaurant. It's a dark, cozy, upscale supper club with a lovely grand piano. Our group ordered burgers and the "famous" prime rib sandwiches and both... More

I love this restaurant! This is one of my favorite places to eat when I am in the city. I took my parents when they were in town and nothing was disappointing. My father had the pork chop and it was one of the biggest that I have ever seen and my mother had the steak and she loved it.... More

Bandera is somewhat hard to miss. The restaurant is nestled away on the second floor of a building right off of Michigan Avenue (look for the Men's Warehouse--they share the same building). The atmosphere at Bandera for lunch was quite unexpected. I felt as if I entered some sort of spy drama because the lights were low and each table... More

I have had the pleasure of dining here multiple times for both business and pleasure. Wait staff is excellent, food is creative and satisfying and the atmosphere lends itself to all occasions. It is always on my list when I'm in Chicago.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
