We love to have lunch @ this place! Arrive a little early or little after lunch and ask for table by the window (street view of Michigan Ave!). The food is always good and the staff excellent. Though the menu (American) has changed over the years (what no fresh fish special?) it will satisfy most every palate, even teenagers!

I've been to this location numerous times and each time is wonderful. The staff is always friendly and the roast chicken is wonderful and the spinach artichoke dip was fantastic. I look forward to going back again.

We were in Chicago for a conference my husband was attending. I checked out places on tripadvisor and decided on Bandera which was only a 10 min walk from the Hyatt Regency hotel. It is on the second floor...it is upstairs beside Men's Warehouse. It is very cozy and there is live jazz music playing. Not sure what time that... More

I hate those places will cool, live Jazz, great food, excellent service, super drinks and an intimate setting. I prefer my dinners in cardboard boxes, served by a clown with red hair. But, unlike Banderas, McDonalds was NOT right outside my hotel room door. Oh well. No accounting for taste.

Been there often, never disappointed Fabulous corn bread! Beautiful salads, each one better than the next, Lamb Sandwich like none other, and OMG they even have music at night. It's loud, it's busy, it's delicious. It's in the heart of Michigan Avenue. A true gem.

I'm a big fan of Hillstone's restaurants and Bandera is certainly another solid win. The food is very good. The enchiladas with wagyu tritip was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Burgers are also very good. For the food quality, the prices are a steal to boot. The only hiccup I experienced was the service. Our entrees came out before we were... More

The place is very nice especially for couples. The food is a way above the average... salmon and beef are special (I have tried them on two different days)... I suggest it for special nights.

Mixed reviews on the food: truly the BEST tortilla soup ever (should have had 2 bowls & called it dinner). Dry chicken. Very good ribs with little meat on them. Mashed potatoes with kale was OK, but why pour olive oil all over it?--to make it shine?? Music is great, but too noisy to have a conversation--choose another place if... More

At first we went to Bandera for lunch. It was quite empty (around 2pm). Great ambiance and food. I had the cheeseburger, and my husband had a french dip sandwich. A few days later, we returned at night. They have live jazz every night, and with the ambiance, it's just perfect. But... Absolutely full! Do make reservations beforehand! We were... More
