Staff is entertaining as they playfully snipe at you, occasional dancing is cute but you can tell their hearts not into it. Food quality is average at best. Go at least once, then you should be good.

Great fun, kids loved it...shakes were delicious, food was just average diner food. Our server was fun and perfectly rude throwing straws, calling us cheap for not ordering appetizers and harassing the kids. We laughed and had a great time.

We visited Ed's this past weekend while they were celebrating their 30th anniversary. The restaurant was busy but we were seated within 5 minutes of entering. Our server was awesome...rude but never offensive. We love the DJ in the corner and the staff dancing to Car Wash on the counter...even after a fuse blew and the music stopped. The food... More

Hadn't been to Ed's for years and recently decided to take a group there while on business in Chicago. It's a fun place with average food that is super busy. We enjoyed the visit and the wait staff that does their best to be fun (in an insulting way). Perhaps what Ed's has going for it is that it's just... More

Celebrated our daughters birthday here while on vacation in Chicago. The french fries were the food that the kids loved here. They brought a small treat for her birthday and were short and sassy with a song - thought it was funny. Another fun thing they did was the DJ put on a song and the wait staff all stopped... More

We had a great lunch here. Staff was funny and attentive. Kids absolutely loved it. Menu is just what we expected, bar food/diner food. Desserts are huge and yummy!

I was in tonight and flying solo. I went up to the counter and he helped made me feel comfortable being alone. Great food, I had the Route 66 chicken sandwich which had avocado on sourdough bread and it was yummy! He asked me what I wanted for a drink, I paused and he said cherry coke which was also... More

My sister in law recommended this restaurant because she had been there before & it was a fun place to go. It was a little expensive but worth the visit. The kids had a lot of fun , a must do while in Chicago.

Waiters and waitresses dressed in 50's attire and they are fun to watch and interact with them. Great milkshakes and burgers....I had a caesar salad last time I was there and it was big and very good. My husband ate chicken strips and had them put buffalo sauce on them(was not on the menu)...he like them. Overall fun experience...kids will... More

A concept which was fresh in mid-1980's, a 50's era Diner offering Burgers, Milk Shakes, and the like served by Fun, Sassy Servers, unfortunately has not aged gracefully. A Chicago local, I have over the past 30 years taken numerous out-of-town visitors here, not because I have found it ever to be that great, but because it was a reasonably... More
