Sorry to see it go....for now!

I was in Chicago for a military reunion 9/29/15, and took my parents to Ed's for the signature "laugh and sass" lunch experience. The food was good, service was great, and we had fun! Although the place was nowhere near full when we arrived (early lunch ~ 11:45am), business picked up a little... read more

Just heard that Ed's is closing tonight. It will reopen sometime in 2016 at another location. Never quite understood the major attraction.

I'm not sure why the place is so popular. I found it very awkward to be insulted while eating dinner. I only ate there out of convenience. Nonetheless the food was pretty good, but I doubt I'll ever eat here again.

After reading some online reviews of places to take kids for dinner in Chicago we ended up trying Ed's during our visit to the Windy city. Overall it was fine, but most likely wont return, due to the overall food quality. I had the meatloaf and it wasnt very good, nor were the accompanying vegetables. We did try the loaded... More

We wandered in on a nostalgic whim...my husband had visited 30 years ago. It was relatively empty but we chalked that up to it being a Sunday evening. Our server, Dale n' Chips, was obnoxious (in a great way) and thoroughly chastised me for my selection. My hubby's turkey club was great and my grilled cheese could not have been... More

We had heard that ED Debevic's was fun choice so we decided to give it a try on a recent visit to Chicago. The staff was very entertaining as the "rude servers." My teenage sons were very amused and gave them grief right back. I have found that many themed restaurants have disappointing food, Ed's is the exception. The food... More

The answer is YES! I visit Chicago often for work and this was my first time to this excellent diner. After seeing a Facebook video of the waiting staff I couldn't resist a visit to see what all the fuss was about. My colleague went in to ask for a table for ten while the rest of us waited outside.... More

The staff are deliberately rude and amusing. At 8.30pm there was an announcement that no more drinks or food would be served for the next three minutes, there then ensued a dance routine performed by four of the wait staff on the table counters. Aside from worrying about hygiene! it was great fun and definitely an expereience. The food was... More

This was my second time here, and I loved it still. The staff is hilariously "mean" towards you, and they are all in characters of their choosing. And of course, do their dance up on the bar! Burgers are good, and fries are normal. The Worlds Smallest Sunday is fun, and really tasty too, you also get to keep the... More

The rude New York staff were great and they danced on the tables. The food was good with lots of choice and we did not wait long
