Intentionally Rude, Entertaining and Delicious!

Such a fun joint to eat at. I had the patty melt, which was very good. The staff is intentionally rude but not overly so. Fun light-hearted place to eat in a diner atmosphere. Staff dress rather sloppily on purpose and dance on the counters a-la Blues Brothers during dinner. Would definitely... read more

Although the foods not bad if you're going there for fine dining forget it this is a fun place to take your kids . If you're going for your great service forget that too because these waiters and waitresses are there to insult you . And if they don't dance on the counter for you ask them to give you... More

My husband and I stopped in to grab a burger, not having ever heard of the place. We caught on quickly. Cute 50s diner decor, waiters and waitresses dressed extremely mismatched or eccentrically trying hard to be rude with comments like "I'm the one who touches your food before you do" or "here, I licked your plate clean for you".... At this restaurant they actually act rude to you on purpose. It's a great theme of the restaurant. When they danced on the counters I was about to explode! I was laughing so hard! They have great malts and food! I would definitely recommend it!

Get place for a great time. Staff are rude, on purpose, which is fun to watch the reaction of first time guest. The food and service was good considering the staff are often busy dancing on the bar near the kitchen. Easy to park ($15.00) for a couple hours. Easy in and out of their parking lot. I will go... First visit to Ed's and when we come back to Chicago we'll definitely come back. The food was good the chocolate malt was great and the "rude" wait staff was funny. They also got up on the counter top and danced.

Between the sassy service and the dancing, there is never a dull moment. Oh yeah, the food is good too!

Friends took me to Ed Debevic's while showing me around Chicago - I had the time of my life - I love anything "retro" - and this was certainly retro...I don't know what I enjoyed more - the food or the experience. We all chose hamburgers, milkshakes and ice cream for dessert - nothing fancy - There were 4 of... More

Took our girls here for the first time and they loved it. 50's style diner with a menu of hamburgers and milkshakes. While staying in character, our server suggested the girls split a milkshake and allowed our 10 year old to order from the children's menu. (Typically for 8 and younger. ) My burger was nothing special but my husband... More
