The food is just diner style variety with reasonable prices especially for Chicago. The milkshakes are a must do! They are the old fashioned, delicious milkshakes I remember as a child. This is lunch with an attitude. The wait staff will joke with you and maybe dance on the tables!

Our daughter really enjoyed our lunch here, largely due to the sassy waitress who was great fun. The food was good, both the foot long hotdog and the salads, but the real draw is the staff.

Our family of 5 went to Ed's to experience the "Sass". As you walk in, you see a kitchy diner look, with funny signs hanging all over the walls. The servers insult you in a fun way while giving good service and bringing what you need.. We would not go again, as the food was ok, but not great (and... More

A great place to stop for lunch to enjoy a burger and a malt. The place is very lively and all of the staff are very passionate about their jobs. Many of the staff came by our table to talk and cut up. A fun lunch stop.

So funny! We loved all the insults! The food was fine nothing special but the kids had a blast and couldn't get over how our waitress was treating us! Not sure we'd go again but it is a must do if you've never been.

Went to Ed's on a trip to Chicago with family(2 adults and 4 kids aged 10,11,12,13). Waitress Lucy displayed the right amount of attitude and the kids loved it as she picked on their Dad the most! She picked it up a notch when he gave her attitude back which was hilarious. Food is just okay but definitely not the... More

This place is know mostly for it's atmosphere, waiters that try to be a little rude, all in good fun. We went for lunch on a thursday afternoon, the place was not too busy then. I ordered a ruben and a chocolate shake, my partner ordered a burger and onion rings. Everything came out as expected. My ruben was a... More

We had so much fun here that we ate here 3 times in one week, even though we were on restaurant row near Rain Forest Cafe, and the Hard Rock Cafe, and lots of other restaurants. The waiters were good naturally insulting, the ambiance was nostalgic and colorful, and the food was DELICIOUS!

Staff is entertaining as they playfully snipe at you, occasional dancing is cute but you can tell their hearts not into it. Food quality is average at best. Go at least once, then you should be good.

Great fun, kids loved it...shakes were delicious, food was just average diner food. Our server was fun and perfectly rude throwing straws, calling us cheap for not ordering appetizers and harassing the kids. We laughed and had a great time.
