Get ready for a rowdy meal! All in fun, of course.

What a fun experience, to eat at a place where the wait staff is surly, grumpy and downright disrespectful. Imagine having Don Rickles over for dinner. "Don't just stand there, sit down!" "Make up your mind, it's only a menu!" "Bathrooms? We don't have any!" And everyone's favorite, "Eat and get... read more

50's to 60's decor, burgers, hot dogs, shakes and BIG desserts. Waiters give you attitude on purpose, great for kids and families. We saw a group of 30 and 43. Kids were squealing with delight. We only stopped for dessert, but saw great baskets of chicken, dogs, burgers and fries.

This is a place you go to for the atmosphere and entertainment. The burger and fries were very average. I was expecting better and was disappointed. But the chocolate malt I had for dessert was out-of-this-world good!

We had a great time at Ed Debevic's with Mighty Mouse as our waiter. We arrived shortly after noon and we were seated immediately, which surprised me for Chicago. Mighty Mouse was relatively funny at our table, but he was quite entertaining as we listened to him with other tables in addition to ours. This was an old fashioned one... More

took kids for lunch and had a blast -- the wait staff does an excellent job with the crowd and kids -- food was awesome and the little skit they put on is enjoyable

This place has so much potential. I loved the actual restaurant with the diner feel, but their attempt at a lower scale "Dicks" was just that.....low class attempt at humor gone rude. Service lacked attention to actual needs of a restaurant patron, food was ok.....probably would not go back

It's a good restaurant / bar to feel soul of typical american burger house, seen on 80's/70's movies. Traditional music, well dressed waiters, guy speaking via microphone, lots of kids, some of them having birthday, traditional burgers, chilis, hot dogs... I'd recommend for all non-US tourists to visit it at least once. Service was ok, except waitress who was 'throwing'... More

The food here is good. They have more than burgers and the atmosphere is awesome. The wait staff is rude in a fun way. They joke with you and make it a fun experience. The food quality is always good and the atmosphere is great. We make sure we stop at Ed's anytime we are in Chicago. They have a... More

We had a great time - even waiting for our table was entertaining with the music/dancing and joking around! Our waiter could have been a little more "rude" but I understand they have to draw the line somewhere and they can't be too ridiculous. It was fun watching everyone interact and enjoy the atmosphere and the food was great -... More
