Great experience

Went with family for late lunch. Food was so good and plentiful we canceled dinner plans. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Loved everything we ordered from calamari to risotto to three different pastas. Friendly place and well run.

Excellent food and drinks. Busy, high energy, but welcoming. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Volare is a must go to when looking for great Italian food in Chicago. The food is simply fantastic and the service very attentive. Wide variety of Italian favorites to choose from with a great wine list. I've eating at Volare six times and each occasion has been consistently great.

Went with family to eat dinner on a Thursday night. Very crowded but we had a reservation so we were seated promptly at 7pm. Wine menu was good too. Started out with sausage and peppers for an appetizer. I'm not much of a sausage person, but have to say it was good! Ordered pizza Volare. No disappointment at all! Crust... More

If you want to look for a fun, downtown budget - yet AMAZING - italian restaurant food... look no further!! The server was very tactful in giving all the right choices for appetizer, main course, desserts... AND a great (mango fusion) cocktail drinks! On top of that, the wine selection was quite fun! Oh, not to mention that my salmon... More

We so enjoyed our dinner at Volare! Three of us had their butternut squash soup and the pasta special that night which was ravioli with short rib, onions and truffles in an asparagus cream sauce. Both were oh so delicious! My husband had a caesar salad and the lasagne and he loved both as well. Our server and several others... More

Always have dinner here when we are in town. Has the feel of a local joint. Great atmosphere....a little chaotic which adds to the ambiance. Staff is engaging, fun, and well informed. Offer what you would expect from a good Italian restaurant. One added bonus is that have gluten free pasta and beer! Very nice for someone like me who... More

I was in Chicago for a conference and looking for places to eat near my hotel. Volare was listed on Trip Advisor as a recommended Italian restaurant that is sometimes hard to get into for dinner. So, I ventured out to Volare for lunch, and was glad I did. The service was prompt and very friendly. I could not decide... More

Was at VOLARE Last Nite For Business Dinner With CO-Workers. Service Was Good, Fresh Oysters Were Excellent, Baked Clams Were Tasty But a Little on The Tiny Side. Everyone Had A Delicious Dinner And Service Was Very Good ( Charlene Took Care Of Us ). The Only Drawback Is The Noise Level, It Just Reverberates And We Found Ourselves Talking... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
