Seven of us visited Volare in September and all of us thought that the food and the service were very good. The food is Italian and the flavours and presentation were excellent. It's a convenient place to have dinner in downtown Chicago and fairly priced.

We were recommended by a work associate to this restaurant and were NOT disappointed. We are a tough crowd to impress when it comes to Italian food and this place is great! The service and overall vibe is like an old-school Italian-American Restaurant. We had a pasta special, the Gnocci (with added house made sausage), and a Risotto. All three... More

Yes, I know. You can't turn around without bumping into a first class restaurant in downtown Chicago...that said, this is one not to be overlooked. Located just east of Michigan Avenue off Grande it is kind of easy to miss. But take the time to look for it. The interior of the restaurant is quite nice and the atmosphere in... More

Way to busy. The manager was overly apologetic (they had a party of 25 seated ahead of us...) comped us an opening pizza... nice.

A friend recommended this restaurant to me and I was able to make reservations. YAY! We were so impressed with the service and the food. Wow... so good! They even offer 1/2-plates which was very nice since we were traveling and not looking for a huge meal. The veal and lasagna were AMAZING.

I was here with some work colleagues for dinner this week. The service was lovely and attentive. The food was very good, however the portions were astronomical. A very large veal parmigiana came with a side serve of spaghetti?! Slightly too much food..

The restaurant was buzzing with high energy, fun spirited people and the staff were amazing. The good was absolutely delicious with a three thumbs up on their Spaghetti Neri, lamb chips and eclectic array of fabulous appys. Gianni the manager was very accommodating and with his Italian stylin way, added to the evening. Jesus was a fantastically attentive server ensuring... More

Its been 5 years since we were here, and the restaurant was bigger, noisier and more crowded than we remembered. While most of the food was very good, we were disappointed in the overly vinegary salad and the seafood pasta with way too much pepper. Three of our part could not eat their entrees. Instead of comping the meals, like... More
