Volare in Chicago is great! I tried in the suburbs and... just don't go in the suburbs. The have the same name not the same recipes! In Downtown the do great. Be sure you have a reservation! Great food, good service. Price adequate.

Ate here with a vendor while on business. Had lamb chops that were very good. Along with the main dish, we had a variety of appetizers, salads and desserts, which were all great! Beyond the food experience, the place was swarming with customers, waiters, extra helpers, etc., simply adding to the fun. Our waiter had a true Italian accent and... More

We were recommended by the concierge to go to Volare. And as always I asked people if we made a good a choice after making the reservation. Hands down people said that is the place to go for Italian. We were not disappointed. We had the seafood pasta with black squid ink pasta and the gnocchi. I make homemade gnocchi... More

Both of our dishes were overcooked. Prices were good on food, but wine was expensive and was not very good. I would not recommend or return.

Friends recommended this place if we would like to have good Italian food - and we booked a table. A wise decision.... - people queuing up on a Thursday evening in October! Lot's of people, lots of servants - lots of cooks in the open kitchen - energy, laughter and some noise - so Italian. We had very nice food... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant based on word of mouth amongst our friends and colleagues. We ordered the white mussels and beet/goat cheese salad as appetizers and the seafood risotto and the veal fusili ragu as our entrées. Well, needless to say we were extremely disappointed due to the fact every item we ordered was bland and underwhelming.... More

Stopped by on the basis of the positive reviews. Nice atmosphere and friendly service but the food was outstandingly mediocre. Ordered the carbonara from the specials and it was just like eating plain spaghetti. There was only the merest hint of anything else, with almost no sauce at all. Such a basic dish being so poorly done makes me think... More

Volare. Ohhh. Cantare. Oh oh oh. We love the restaurant. The Food is authentic. The Staff. Professional and cordial. The price. Cheap by New England standards. We love this place. A must stop every time we are in Chicago.

I went there because all the good reviews on Trip Advisor, but was quite disappointed. The tables were way too close to each other, the food was "ok", even though the price was good. The bread was also "ok". The staff was helpful.
