Like in Italy

Authentic food, great pizza from the wood oven and a nice wine list. We have been there a couple of times and always liked the food. You almost cannot go wrong. The wine list is also very nice with some gems at very correct prices. Do not go for the big labels, they are too expensive. Seating... read more

Are outdoors for lunch today - very good experience. Service was excellent and so was the food. I highly recommend this place

Had a capresee salad which was good. Then I had pizza off the Lunch Menu - Pizza was bland - lacked flavour. The dough was undercooked which made the pizza chewy, Look good from the outside but thats where the good things ended. Would not recommend it - there are plenty of other Italian eating houses in Chicago.

I ate the best see best ever. Service was excellent! It is cozy and romantic. Their chocolate martinis are the best! They have valet parking.

A wonderful experience. Outstanding food. Good service, not great but good. Huge portions. Great value. The best mixed grill seafood I've ever had. Octopus, Scallops, shrimp and calamari, grilled over fire, finished with olive oil and balsamic. I ordered the small portion, was definitely enough for two people. Wonderful warm kale salad with canellni beans, Brussels sprout leaves, pancetta, toasted... More

We accidentally stumbled into Volare when the nearby restaurant we were headed to ended up being closed for a private party. I'm an avid user of TripAdvisor and was a little nervous about heading into a restaurant without checking out the reviews first. There was no need to worry, though. Our drinks, appetizers, and entrees were all excellent. We were... More

While this place has had some decent reviews, I/we will not return. The food was decent, but the arrogant owner/host couldn't give us the time of day once he saw we were there with children. Wait staff was good, but we are not interested in giving our $$$$ to a place that doesn't appreciate families exposing their children to various... More

This doesn’t happen very often but fellow reviewers, you let me down. Volare is clearly a tourist trap with really average Italian-American food hidden behind the façade of a high scale place. You can tell it is family owned by the number of people in suits running around doing nothing (the cousins that can’t find a job). Service was average,... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
