Great for a special night out

This is a chain, but doesn't feel like it. We've been there a couple of times because the prices mean it's a bit of a splurge for us. But the food, drinks and service are fantastic. Despite being early and the restaurant being 75% empty, we were in for a continual stream of trying to rush us out. At times they were outright rude. The coconut tiger shrimp appetizer was good, the gyoza were good, the Halakea roll was good, the lobster potstickers were mediocre seemingly overcooked. The Roy's Trio was uneven. the butterflyfish was excellent,... More

Another Roy's and another excellent meal. We ordered the Maui Wowie Shrimp salad and it was absolutely delicious. The Caesar was very good, too. We then shared three sushi rolls that were just some of the best I've ever had. There were imaginative sushi rolls. We tried the Ebi (tempura shrimp w/avocado) CA lobster roll and spicy tuna. Really really... More

Hosted a business dinner for six. Made the reservation a month ahead of time and confirmed the day before. When we arrived, our table was not ready even though the place was less than half filled. The décor is tired. Dark inside, no ambiance or vibe. Kind of the type of place you take Grandma for early dinner. . .... More

It was one of the best fusion restaurant we ever dined with. Great service and truly amazing desserts. What more could you ask for? Must try the crusted coconut tiger prawns! Too bad they don't have a restaurant here in Houston.

Service and food were quite excellent. Though Roy's has a theme, you should easily be able to find any food item that would agree with your pallet! Deserts were marvelous and portions generous. Would definitely visit again!

The service was ok to good. Most of us had the prix fixe and the choices were good. The dinner was excellent from start to end. The waitress was a bit too forward with her wine recommendation. I didn't ask for help and didn't need any help. So often the help wants to push for a pricy wine that may... More

This was my first experience dining at Roy's in Chicago. From start to finish it was awful...the service, the lack of drinks...it took 1 1/2 hours to get our entrees...we ordered apps ahead of time...the apps didn't come until at least one hour in and some of the apps were cold. I have heard great things about this restaurant...but obviously... More

I just want to say I went here on a date and we loved it! The service from start to finish is super awesome! The waiter there knows her stuff and I swear she could sell me anything and I Wouk buy it- lol! The food was a little expensive but it was super delicious and worth the money I... More
