Awesome little restaurant and bakery in the heart of Lincoln Square. Sit outside and enjoy whatever entertainment is happening in the little square - music, clowns, jugglers, etc. Great service and really great food. Hard to walk past the bakery case without picking something up. I had the brussel sprout salad with salmon, and my husband had the fried chicken... More

We went to Chicago for the weekend. Stopped by Lincoln square for a short stop. The appearance of the shop is nice, with outdoor seating (need to tip for service), or take it in shop (with stools). Cakes are great. Coffee is ok. Waitress service was good, but the counter cashier service attitude could be better. Overall a nice place... More

Right in the center of Lincoln Square with a good patio next to the fountain, my husband and I enjoyed a nice brunch here. The service was just okay, but the food was good. The ambiance is also nice in the patio area, especially if a musician is playing next to the fountain.

We first came here several years ago when we were considering moving to Lincoln Square, an area of Chicago that feels more like a village--lots of families, civic involvement, handsome old trees and quiet streets. We didn't move to the area, but if we lived there we would come to this charming bakery/restaurant all the time--and then exercise off the... More

We sat outside and really enjoyed the vibe, the food, and the service. Three of us are non meat eaters and the menu was terrific for us. They made an incredibly good roasted Brussels sprout salad and an equally good quiche served with a side salad. Our meat eater enjoyed a turkey sandwich and ginger beer. The service was friendly,... I had lunch at Selmarie twice while on vacation in Chicago. The first time I had what amounted to a deconstructed BLT, pork instead of bacon, served on a big bun, with a side of mac and cheese. The sandwich was delightful, especially with a bottle of Dortmunder beer. The second time I had a full portion of the mac... More

Very European, without the pretense. The selection of fine cakes and pastries is a very nice blend of high-end European and American bakery favorites. One can order at the counter or opt for table service. There is both indoor and outdoor seating on nice little square, in this well maintained German / Austrian Chicago conclave. The neighborhood square outside the... More

One of my favorite cafés in Chicago. Love their sandwiches, coffee. The half chicken dinner is one of my favs...so tasty and melts in your mouth. Desserts are delicious! It's in a little European neighborhood of Chicago. Love the atmosphere, and summer time their outdoor area.

Charming place with the greatest sweets ever, had a strawberry tart, crust was amazing, custard good, melted in your mouth. The chocolate expresso tart was just as amazing. Will be returning soon.
