Dinner

I'm not a vegetarian, but this was close to our hotel and came highly recommended. And I see why. The food was excellent. I had the Thai noodles. Not sure what the meat substitute was but it seemed to fit well. The service was great. All of the staff were very upbeat and helpful. It was quite busy... read more

This is for the people who have friends that are vegan and don't know where to take them. Both of my daughters are vegetarians, I'm not. Finding a place that we all can ear can be a pain. A lot of places that we have gone to that claim to have vegetarian options turn into plenty of selection for me... More

Hard to criticise this one, for veggies. Good quality, inventive American-style food. Some may not like the way the menu hangs on meat substitutes, but it was fine by our tastes. And the waffle fries are not frozen, but cut from potatoes with skins on. Good beers, too.

With strict dietary restrictions I don't get to have too many treats. A friend from Chicago said the milkshakes are amazing and this place didn't disappoint. You can't tell the shake was missing any ingredients of a normal milkshake. It was so delicious. Come open one of these diners in Minneapolis - please please please.

After several days in Chicago eating deep dish pizza and italian beef sandwiches, my wife insisted we eat somewhere with a little more healthy fare. We tried the Chicago Diner and I am glad we did. Clearly, I am no where near a vegetarian so I was somewhat skeptical of this place and the menu, but I do love a... More

Good visit with our vegan daughter. The dishes were very flavorful and served with a smile. I will go again even of my daughter is not with us. It was that good.

Went there for brunch with my son, loved the ability to order all kinds of vegan diner food - like sausage gravy biscuits. That said, although good, my homemade is better & we sat on the 'patio' which is a tent with very little decor or ambiance. We would recommend, but sit inside.

Sometimes very crowded and busy, so waiting can take long. The food is great though, and the staff is very friendly and extremely welcoming to all types of people. We like to eat here every time we visit Chicago.

Went here with my Vegan friend. Based on TripAdvisor reviews, I thought the food would be fabulous...but just average.

Whenever I'm in town, I try to make time to stop by the Chicago Diner. The diner is located in the heart of Boystown. Even if you aren't vegetarian/vegan, the food is great & you won't miss the meat. Don't think it's just a bunch of blended up kale in a cup. They've got portobello mushroom burgers (yum) & a... More
