The french macarons were some of the best I have ever had. My review is based mainly on them. By other half got a piece of chocolate pound cake and was not overly impressed. But like I said, if you like macarons, stop in!

Where to begin? The bread at this store is not baked on premed is but trucked in several times a day from a nearby central bakery. I've tired the multigrain and regular baguette and both are good but not great and in my estimation expensive. Somehow they don't quite have the crisp crust I expect of a really good loaf,... More

We looked for a light breakfast option in Chicago. We were sure this will not be the all American option, and did seek for a French option. La Fournette had a nice selection of French salads, crepes, croissants, breads and sweet baked goods. It is not a full service but who needs that for a light breakfast. Prices are good,... More

Almond croissant was delicious, the raspberry macaron was good. The cappucino was great and the place is very cozy and everything looks delicious!!!

Came in from out of town. We were dropped off in the area. We went inside and everything was freshly made. We shared plates. Everything was excellent!

I'm so glad we took the extra time to walk to this place from our hotel. Excellent little French Bakery. Perfect little seating area, AMAZING macarons, delicious savory crepes (try the veggie!) and croissants. It was the perfect spot for an intimate brunch when out on the town. We will be back!

This cafe and bakery is located in the heart of Old Town on Wells near North Avenue. The baguettes here are simply wonderful. I personally don't care for sourdough and the baguettes do contain a touch of it but I still love the bread. They make other breads, danish, croissants, meringues, etc; all first rate. There is a sit down... More

TripAdvisor is a great guide and has led me to many great hotels and restaurants. That being said, you don't get to know a city until you walk the city. On a long walk through the city we randomly happened upon a french bakery in Old Town....La Fournette. Upon entering we were greeted with an authentic "Bonjour" by the owner... More

The words is spreading among the French community in Chicago - if you want a nice old fashion baguette, go to Fournette on Wells. The cafe itself is not so cozy but the bread is fantastic, and so are the Danish pastries and macarons. I also appreciate that the staff is trying to say a few words in French (or... More

The baguettes....the bread is just so good! Some of the best bread ever stateside! Tear off a chunk and enjoy with coffee. It is just that good. The croissants melt in your mouth...the almond croissant especially. The coffee is perfect. This place is one of the cutest unassuming bakery/café in Chicago. If you have a SOS in your life from...
