An Unique Restaurant in Chicago

Allium, is in the lobby level of the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago's Gold Coast. It is a unique restaurant in many ways: the decor is subdued and tastefully done, the atmosphere is pleasing and the sound level mild, (uncommon in many Chicago restaurants these days.) Thanks to the arrival of a new... read more

The atmosphere created by the decor and the huge windows invites you to a good meal. The menu is diverse, original and the food is very well rendered. Coirteous service tops it off.

You must begin the meal with the lavash bread, served to you hanging on a hook, and then end the meal with the 99% chocolate homemade sorbet and a latte. Best latte I have EVER had and the sorbet...I can't stop thinking about it. If you want to experience a little of what the Four Seasons has to offer but... More

Restaurant has very good menu - food all seems very fresh and is really nicely presented. The steak was superb...really well cooked and full of flavour. Service very friendly as expected, which compensates for the restaurants slight lacking in atmosphere. Eating at 9pm on a Friday, the restaurant wasn't what you would describe as 'buzzing' and the servers were preparing... More

I guess I should have expected a restaurant at the Four Seasons would be excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had their signature chicken that was about as good as chicken can be. I had a side of carrots and actually did not look as good, muted colors, wilted, but tasted fresh and wonderful, covered with some... More

On the lobby level of the 4 Seasons, the main dining room is beautifully low-lit, usually with a fire going, with a smaller room in the back, all windows with some nice views, though the tables could be nicer. Excellent service, everyone is friendly, our waiter was always there when needed, but didn't rush or crowd us. Decent pours on... More

Being a Chicago native I had never visited to Four Seasons so I was excited when my wife told me we had reservations for Sunday Brunch. While we didn't actually stay at the hotel, my wife enjoyed an amazing spa treatment complete with bamboo sticks she claims. After her massage we made our way to the hotels restaurant Allium. The... We had room service every morning from the Allium and it was an incredible meal. Everything from the OJ to the blueberry pancakes were exceptional. It was a bit pricey but worth every cent we paid. When we are in Chicago again this is the place for us. We had a chance to see their brunch and it was unbelievable.... More

Yes, I have been there for all of these. Staying at the four seasons is amazing and I have been there many times, this restaurant delivers on all meals, great service and innovative food. the quality is great and the value is ok. Ambience is very nice, the view is limited, especially when compared to the higher up floors.

Great menu selection, not outrageously priced considering the neighborhood. Good selection of sizes, excellent wine selection. Atmosphere is very pleasant; you can choose either a lounge type seating, or a restaurant seating. Service is unsurpassed.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
