Good prices, great service, best burgers

Stopped in for lunch. Place is small comfortable in a low-key way. Simple burger menu with interesting options (spice blends, various toppings and bun choices) that broaden the menu. Burgers cooked perfectly to order. I like mine 'au bleu', (close to raw) and the chef got it right. All ingredients... read more

I heard from a few neighbors this place was pretty good so my wife, son and i decided to give it a try. We were in the mood for Burgers and Fries so we ordered. The Burgers with Fried egg (All of us had them) was Really good and good Sized and the fries were good as well. I would give... More

While not in the Loop this place is nicely located off the Brown Line Armitage stop. It's a bit small but a cute place. The burgers options are very good. I picked the salmon patty with a lettuce wrap. It was fantastic! Our server recommended the wasabi mayo which was great too. Also, the staff is great -where else will... More

After lunch at Butcher & The Burger this past weekend, I have 4 options: 1. Figure out how to mainline that badboy blue cheese with Chicago seasoning 2. Franchise a store in my basement, invitation only 3. Start a Butcher & The Burger Anonymous and live day to day until the next time 4. Find something better - NOT. Lots... More

We loved the small, bustling vibe of this place, and we especially loved the delicious, juicy burgers. Since I'm gluten-free, I had the burger with a lettuce bun. My only wish is that they would carry a mayo like Vegenaise or Earth Balance so that folks like me have something to dress up their burgers with. But that's a picky... More

Let me get the bad thing out of the way - parking stinks! But, it is worth it to try and find a spot. And certainly if you are within walking distance in the neighborhood or getting off of the train on the Purple Line at Armitage Ave. What this restaurant lacks in seating, it makes up for in the... Found this spot while walking along Armitage. We enjoyed it, and I appreciated the offering of child sized burgers available topped just like a big burger. The chikd size was still plenty of food, in my opinion. We took the cashier's advice on adding the steak seasoning, and honestly thought it masked the burger flavor too much. Line formed fast,... This little gem is nestled into a corner store that has an old school feel - three large blackboards on a brick wall list an array of burger types (such as bison, vegan, salmon, shrimp and beef), bun types (including lettuce!), spice rubs (they make their own), sauces (including wasabi mayo and Sriracha aioli), free condiments and premier condiments (a... Okay, so I passed on the foie gras. And I was teased a bit (in good nature) by the staff because I only wanted Dijon mustard on my burger, but wow. It was fantastic. There are so many options here..toppings and burgers (salmon, turkey, grassfed, traditional, etc). Don't expect McDonald's pricing, but keep in mind, it is called "Butcher" and... More

While Butcher and the Burger is not my favorite burger joint in the city, I always leave happy and satisfied. Probably the best aspects of the restaurant are not the burgers, but the fries and that it is byob. The truffle mayo is also not to be missed!
