Fresh, homemade bread really makes these great sandwiches! The very best freshest chicken curry sandwich, tuna sandwich or egg salad. The food is clean and simple. An ideal location for soups and salads, as well. The homemade croissants are fabulous. It is a small intimate breakfast and lunch spot with charm and everything prepared fresh each morning!

A friend told us about Hendrickx, so we went there soon after we arrived in Chicago for a long weekend and ended up going back every day. The people who run the place are wonderfully friendly and love describing the ways that they prepare everything from scratch; you can peer into the back and see the bakers at work. As... More

It was everything I'd heard it was. Coffee was fantastic. The pastries were out of this world. Staff was gracious. Try the waffle!

This bakery is close to my work and it has been a wonderful new surprise for me to discover it in the area! I've consistently been visiting for lunch and the staff is so personal. I've even met one of the owners already! Their soups are fresh and not too salty as well as the bread and sandwiches too. This... More

After learning from our waiter the night before at Spiaggia that this establishment provided the absolutely yummy bread at their fantastic restaurant, we had to go here and pick up some more bread to take home. Didn't try any of their pastries here, but they looked great. Look forward to my next time in the city, where I will definitely... More

Stumbled on this bakery by accident after visiting Sprinkles and decided to walk over for breakfast the next morning. It is a little difficult to find, but so worth it! We ordered a pistachio croissant, chocolate pistachio croissant, and a chocolate cherry croissant...each one was more amazing than the next! We also took some pistachio macarons to go, which were... This was not the easiest little place to find (we were staying at a hotel farther north and we walked), but it is right in downtown Chicago so it should be easy to find if you are downtown. We love Goat Cheese so we both had something using that. My wife was the winner. Her sandwich with Goat Cheese spread... More

Cute little bakery tucked behind the Bloomingdale's building. Nice variety of pastries- the pistachio chocolate croissant was very good, the gruyere croissant was AMAZING. Staff is friendly and offers free coffee that is actually not bad (not quite sure what the terms are for getting the free coffee- I think it comes when you order an additional drink, which seems... This place it's very simple on the inside. The patties and croissants speak for themselves. The macaroons are amazing and the curry chicken salad is also very good. You won't get your food quickly but you won't care once you try it!
