Came highly recommended by a local friend for our visit. We were reluctant to sit outside in the morning chill, but couldn't pass up the experience. We were seated in the sun, and they turned a heater on for us. Waitress was accomodating, and so helpful to modify our requests slightly from the menu. So glad we visited, food was... More

The Bridge House Tavern has a unique elevator entrance from N. Clark St. so that the tavern is at river level. We arrived on a chilly October day, so we couldn't take advantage of the wonderful outdoor dining along the river. They have beautiful casual seating groups with heaters, although it was too windy for us even with the heaters.... More

We brought some visitors into the city and wanted to eat somewhere outside with impressive urban views. Bridge House fills the bill - and more. It has a varied nice menu to go along with the location. We started with the jalapeno popcorn and a shrimp appetizer, followed by steak sandwiches, turkey burgers and fish and chips. Everything was very... More

I have been literally looking at Bridge House Tavern from across the river for the last few months from my apartment building balcony and finally went here for brunch the other day. What a great restaurant! I love unfussy, unpretentious brunches and Bridge House was exactly what I needed after a long hot yoga class. My sister and I were... More

This place felt very European, sitting by the river and watching the tour boats go by. The food was great too, for foodie parents as well as grilled cheese kids.

We went for the view and came away impressed with the food and service. We wanted to have dinner at a table along the river but were advised that a storm was coming and they would have to seat us inside. They put us in a corner by the kitchen and we thought well "we will make the best of... More

Loved what we ordered. We had a wide variety of appetizers and the artichoke bruschette was the best. Ordered the BLT and this is my only complaint in that the bacon is so thick it's more like slices of ham. Still loved my BLT but I just prefer thin crisp bacon. Then we ended our meal with a wide variety... More

Nice variety of great food. Wonderful service. If the weather is good, eat outside and watch the boats go by.

I recently had lunch with my husband and 2 friends at the Bridge House Tavern. We sat outside overlooking the river which was very nice. The meal was very good -both my husband and I had the house burger. It was very huge with 2 patties. We could have easily shared the meal for lunch. It was cooked as requested... More

Slogging with our luggage from the blue line to our hotel after a ridiculously long flight from the west coast (stupid airlines), my husband and I spotted exactly where we wanted to return for dinner. We saw the tavern along the river, but weren't sure how to get down there. (Look for the sign prominently posted on the street-level elevator... More
