Good Pub Food with Excellent Service

Bridge House has some of the best service that I've had in any restaurant that I've ever been to worldwide. The service has been consistently good. I appreciated that the owner came around to make sure that everything was running smoothly. The food is typical pub food and made well. I would... read more

If, as happened to us, The Bridge House Tavern loses your reservation, doesn't apologize and doesn't offer to fit you in, do as we did and walk a little further west along the river walk to River Roast.

I wasn't excited about the 1-hour wait but we bought a bottle of wine and endured. All the while I was complaining about the 5-6 empty tables! And oh so glad we did wait it out. The menus is distinctive and unique with pleasing tastes! We hit the mother load with a table for two on the river. Be advised... More

This is a fun spot right on the river with excellent service and food. We got there at the perfect time for a patio table for 6 of us, as the crowd became large and the line began to form shortly after we were seated. We were there during happy hour, and they had oysters on the half shell for... More

Sitting on the Chicago River having one of the best Grilled Cheese sandwiches I've ever had, makes one great lunch! We 'stumbled' on Bridge House Tavern on a Saturday when they were serving brunch. They were packed! But the owner, went out of his way to convince us to stay and said he would get us in asap! Then he... More

We were happy we found this place. It is the perfect location to unwind and eat dinner after walking the Chicago sites all day. We were able to sit right on the wall so we each had a superb view of the river and all the boats passing by. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. You could go... More

We were staying at the Westin river North in Chicago. Just below the hotel was the Bridge House Tavern. We got a table for two right by the river. It was the BOMB as the young ones like to say. Great atmosphere , nice food, and not too expensive. The Avocado (Not Guacamole) dip with chips was special, with avocado... More

Although management doesn't guarantee the outside riverfront tables, we were lucky to get one. Restaurant was a little hard to find as it's tucked away between two bridges. The sandwiches we ordered were excellent and I would recommend the Chicken with pesto and mushroom on a pretzel bun.

This is a great spot right on the riverfront. I went here for Saturday brunch while visiting Chicago for the weekend. The views of the river and the boats are fantastic if you can snag a spot on the patio. There was also live music across the river from the place. They had $5 mimosas during brunch and plenty of... Hard as heck to find. It's past the river - and through the woods. Actually it's right near the Westin - but man it's not easy to find. Well worth it once you get there. Great drink specials, attentive staff, and awesome appetizers.
