Good food but better beer

visited for a late afternoon, Saturday lunch last weekend. We enjoyed over salted pretzels and no so cheesy, cheese curds for an appetizers but after that things improved. They have at least a dozen beers on draft that they make w small 4oz samples for a buck/50. I love that as I can sample many... read more

You should plan to have a meal here and definitely drink beer. It was very crowded at 9 p.m. on a Saturday with an hour wait time. Beware and be prepared to wait. I wish the had more room to wait. The food was equally as good as their beer. Stop by!

We visited here recently while spending the day in the city and were not disappointed. My husband has been wanting to get here since they opened and he was very happy he finally made it. We tried four of their beers - 'My Sweet Cherry Wheat', Aleister Double American IPA, Midnight Conspiracy Oatmeal Stout, and The Defender American Stout -... More

This was my second visit here. My wife and I only had beer this time. The atmosphere is great and the beer spectacular. I have eaten here in the past and the food was great! I strongly recommend visiting here!

We visited Haymarket on Christmas day. The food menu seemed a little lighter than we expected (probably because of the holiday). However, the cheese curds, pretzels, and carrot cake were all nice choices. We tried many of their beers without disappointment. Often, the beers that we did not expect to love were the ones that shocked us the most. Plus,... More

The Riot burger - Italian sausage patty, cheese and pulled pork on top... It was delicious - slightly spicy (enhanced by the spicy salsa served on the side) - and it goes perfectly with the wide range of beers available on tap. Would definitely go back.

..because the Haymarket did not really blow them off. When the best thing about the place is its location - it has some work to do. We were there on a Thurs night right after work to catch a quick bite before a concert at United Center. It is very convenient for that purpose. The atmosphere is loud and the... More

No complaints really. The food (bar pizza, some chicken and BBQ thing) was very good and the beer was decent. It was an easy place to meet friends after work when i was visiting Chicago on Business. Didn't feel like we had to make any excuses to meet there. Everyone was able to get what they wanted and we were... More

When in Chicago, I was really looking for some craft brew and pub food, so we went to the Haymarket. It was more of an upscale restaurant than I was looking for, expensive plates. Beer was ok, food was good, atmosphere was brewpubery.

A brew pub, generally noisy ... a fair selection of beers but none that really stand out. Food isn't that outstanding either ... you go to have some beer, grab some food and talk ... free transport to Blackhawk hockey games with free beer on board.
