We had been to Alinea and Charlie Trotter's, which both had world class reputations and were disappointed with both. Ria was next on the list and deserves every Michelin star it earns. The service was extraordinary. We felt we made friends with everyone who helped us. They give you a gift bag when you leave, which is such a touching... More

My wife and I went to Ria recently and were impressed with both the service and the cuisine. Progressive French at its best. The service was very professional and genuinely attentive without being obtrusive. We have dined in many Michelin star restaurants in London and Paris and were extremely satisfied with our experience at Ria. The chef demonstrated an excellent... More

Exceptional food and service quality. Very traditional restaurant in the French haute cuisine sense. Loved my meal there. Pricing puts it in 3 Michelin star territory though. $100 less and it would be a destination.

My wife and I were excited about Ria when we read it had 2 Michelin stars. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT !!!!! The service was adequate but very, very pretentious . The food was so salty,it was almost inedible. The final insult was presenting the two us with a bill for $585. The happiest moment of the evening was when we left.

We had a very boisterious group of seven and the staff was so accommodating. The food had several moments of brilliance starting with the amuse bouche. I can see where a party of two would have an impeccable dining experience here. We will definitely return here.

In brief: We felt squeezed for every nickel by this allegedly high-end establishment, from the moment we were seated to the moment we were presented with our bill, which included an 18%-plus gratuity on our table for two. An outrageous insult. Supremely tacky. We had high hopes as we entered Ria, a Michelin two-starred restaurant in Chicago, where my husband... More

Had a marvelous dinner with three good friends at Ria on Memorial Day weekend. One of the very best aNd most memorable meals I've ever enjoyed. We started with glasses of superb champagne - topped up whilst we were enjoying the four inventive and delicious amuse bouches. We had the Spring tasting menu, each course was beautifully presented - the... More

Hmm. Where do I start? I think 'America' and 'fine dining' just don't somehow work. Maybe Chicago is too used to eating hot dogs. Maybe some of these guys need to get out more often. Overseas would be good. Started off the enthusiastic hard sell Champers at $40 / glass. Fine. Other restaurants would do the same. Had the Chefs... More

We were staying at the Waldorf for a few nights, and decided to try Ria as a special treat. We enjoy eating at nice restaurants, but it was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant. It was quite an experience. We went for the seasonal tasting menu, with wine pairing. Based on reviews we decided to go for the... More
