Facts: - Came in on a Friday night at 7pm. - Wait was 45 minutes. - BYOB (Bring your own booze) - No reservations Suggestions: - While waiting, walk to Chicago Street and shop around. There are some cute vintage stores. We picked up two bottles of wine at lush. - Just go with yourself and another person. The wait... More

Went on a Saturday evening with friends and were told we could eat at 9:30. We brought a bottle of wine and everyone ordered something different – everything was incredible but I must say the dessert is what stuck with me. We ordered one of each (there were two on the menu that night) and when they arrived, I thought... More

Not really sure if this place is my thing, but not going to give it a bad review for my own issues...so we'll go with a rating right in the middle. So, went to Ruxbin on a whim a couple of weeks ago with a friend. It was my very first BYOB experience EVER. This threw me off a bit,... More

This is the most amazing atmosphere/ food combination around! The brother/sister team who opened the restaurant are spot on in the comfort food/ eclectic flair that makes this place so special and keeps people coming back for more. The bathroom door is epic.... you have to go see it!!!

We couldn't have been in a more perfect place on a freezing cold night in the city -- the room was packed and made everyone that much more friendly. We knew the service quirks going in -- and had an outstanding meal. Brought our own wines -- and ended up sharing tastes with folks up and down our row. Fun... More

They are very up front about wanting to get as many people served as possible in an evening. It is hard for me to enjoy even excellent food when I feel rushed. I knew going in that this was their policy and their prerogative. The food is eclectic, popcorn instead of bread. The popcorn was sea salt, sugar, sesame seed... More

This is a small but intimate restaurant. We have been here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. It's best to get there early to get a seat because it fills up fast and they do not take reservations. As other reviewers have mentioned it is BYOB which can be really great if you want to enjoy... After trying to get into this restaurant for dinner on multiple occasions, my husband and I decided to try our luck on our wedding anniversary. We were happy to get a table shortly after arriving around 6PM on a Saturday evening. From checking in to closing our check, the service was fantastic - not a single complaint. Upon hearing that... My wife and I visit Chicago several times a year and have found a new staple! Very imaginative cuisine and presentation in a cozy setting. Very small intimate setting with attentive wait staff and great food. This was our second visit in and can't wait to eat here again!

We were there on a Thursday at 7:30pm & seated immediately. Heard that at times this restaurant can be a 2 hr. wait because it only seats about 30. Very small, but cool, "Steampunk/recycled like" interior design (Lighting made out of old theatre chairs). It's also BYOB, but there is a liquor store down the street who delivers. We had... More
