We were a group 6 and found this lively restaurant with bar by coincidence. The food was average and unpretentious lacking however any sophistication. Service is swift. Prices are reasonable considering the neighborhood and the obvious fashionable appeal and cool ambiance. Average age of patrons must be anywhere between 21 and 35. The booth along the walls are ideal for... More

Great fresh foods! Best Calamari ever!!!! The service is amazing, you end up with personal servers as food comes out. They make their own clear ice. We had salmon, steak, mashed potatoes, Caesar Salad, etc. We have been here a few times and it is excellent. Ambience is great! They have a Speakeasy bar downstairs that is really cool and... More

I try not to go back to a restaurant when I go travel, but I made an exception for gilt bar. Both meals i have had a great. Good steak (big enough to split), and the orchetti with pork was incredible. Even the roasted cauliflower was good. This is on top of great drinks.

Have had several meals at Gilt and all are top shelf. The 'Toasts' are off the hook, brick chicken is some of best chicken ever and don't even get me started on the insane meat balls or killer old school drinks. Go early or snag a rez. on line ....as it will be packed.

I expected way more, but the food was very disappointing. The atmosphere was nice, liked it, but the food fell way short and was very expensive for what it is. Go to Bavette's a few doors down, you will do much better and have an exceptional meal.

Great place for cocktails and amazing food. Worth it for the money-- hand made pasta-go for the truffle pasta, the T-bone steak n a starter of your choice. The cocktail I loved it's called lilie rose daisy or something.

What a wonderful surprise. Our concierge Bobbie/Palomar hotel recommended it. A sister restaurant to Babette's. Beautiful ambiance inside. Lovely menu. Excellent desserts. Not crowded. Fabulous find. Bill surprisingly not overpriced. Excellent service. Believe it is a hidden gem.........

O.k. when you start with roasted bone marrow with onion jam ( just roll me over and give me a blanket), move on to Orcchietti with spicy pork (have I died and gone to heaven?) , followed up with charred asparagus with parmesan and herbs ( just turn me into a vegetarian) I would say these people know how to... We recently ate at Gilt during a trip to Chicago. This was actually my second trip to Gilt. The food and drinks were fabulous! During my first visit to Gilt, the kitchen was open, and I loved being able to watch the staff. However, they have since closed off the kitchen to make room for a larger seating area. Gilt... More
