Our First Stop off the Plane

OK, we did check into our Airbnb first, but then we hit this neighborhood joint for a mid afternoon Chicago Dog. YUM. Great dogs, supers soft buns, and crispy fries. We haven't had a real Chicago Dog in over 10 years, and this reminded us of what we were missing! The owner was lovely, and we... read more

A perfect spot to grab a dog in Lincoln Park. I enjoy the Polish with grilled onions. Fake fireplaces are a bit confusing but fun. Scenic view if you sit in the window and watch people walk down Armitage.

Was served by the owner a cold bacon dog. Not sure how that happens, but it did. Won't go back due to cold food and owner's arrogance.

In Chicago, on the Near West Side, not far from Lincoln Park Zoo, this is the place for hot dogs, takeout and late night delivery. There are a lot of hot dog joints in Chicago and many varieties of the Chicago-style hot dog but the Dog Joint is among the best. Nothing fancy, no sit-down, just fast, friendly service and... More

Always loved this place when I need a fix of a good hot dog and cheese fries. Their food prep and attention to order seems better. Cheese fries are some of the best plus a cheese dog with bacon on it? All day.

We came here on a weekday afternoon after visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo. The owner was so friendly and inviting. He made us feel very welcome. The prices absolutely cannot be beat - $2.50 for fries and it's more than enough to share with another person. Our hotdogs were unbelievable. I especially liked the hot peppers. Hands down the best... More

First time I ever ate a Chicago Style Everything-on-it hotdog... The explosion of flavor was incredible! This was a first for visiting this wonderful little hotdog place, a first for visiting Lincoln Park and a first for visiting the zoo. The Dog Joint is my new favorite place to eat in Chicago! Thank you for an awesome first!

Had the basic hotdog with giardiniera ($3) and it was delicious. A small little shop on the intersection of Sedgwick and Lincoln Ave but big personality. Delicious dog - frank, giardiniera with chilli and tomato. It was a flavour explosion!!! The shop is pretty close to the Zoo and Conservatory area of Lincoln Park.

Had them both and this little hole-in-the-wall next door to the Park West had a terrific char-grilled dog with all the fixins that was AWESOME!! Portillo's was good, too, don't get me wrong. But this one tasted great and I thought the dog was better.

We visited The Dog Joint prior to going to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It's right across the street, so the location was perfect. The service was great, as were the hot dogs and fries. I'm boring, so I got mine only with ketchup, whereas my boyfriend got the works. He loved his so much, he got a second. A hot... More
