Visited the State Lake Chicago Tavern at the Wit last Saturday night and it was a very favorable experience! Plenty of TV's,attentive bartenders and good apps....our most capable female bartender recommended the Crispy Chicken Thighs..they were awesome! Nice draught beer menu and lively crowd watching the game! I would recommend this great location for casual, lively fun!

Chose this based on a friend of a friend. Blackhawks game on every TV. Crispy Chicken Thighs were fabulous. Had a decent burger. Service a bit slow on refills from the bar. My friend's order came out wrong and was quickly reordered and delivered. Great place to watch a game.

We made reservations for State and Lake through OpenTable as a convenient restaurant before a show at the Chicago Theatre. I called ahead to check on parking and was informed that valet was discounted for diners to $17. We showed up, handed over the keys, and entered the boisterous restaurant. Our first impression was a chaotic hotel bar. The layout... More

My husband and I had breakfast here because we were staying at The Wit, so it was convenient. We paid $45 for orange juice, coffee, eggs, bacon and some kind of fancy potato - all of which were presented in a manner deserving of "Master Chef" status, but just tasted average.

We came here twice and both times we were met with friendly wait staff. The hosts were not very timely and felt that the conversation about how so-and-so looked in those new jeans was more important than getting their guests sat. The servers on the other hand were very attentive. We had the bar service and it was pretty good.... More

After walking 1 1/2 miles to get to the restaurant I was pleasantly surprised by how cool this place was. The bartender pours heavy and the Mac and Cheese was well worth the walk. The burger was a little dry, but that could have been my fault for ordering it Medium Well. Overall 4 out of 5 Stars. A great... More
