A hidden gem

Another great example of the vibrant dining scene in and around Chicago. The brunch menu is excellent and exciting and the bacon glazed donut is not to be missed!

Yes, in our retirement, and as a reviewer for Tripadvisor, my wife and I love to sample (and evaluate) as many hot dog, pizza, hamburger, barbecue, steak, seafood, Italian beef and breakfast-oriented restaurants as we can find in the Chicago area. But we also are always on the lookout for 4-star or 5-star restaurants, the creme de la creme, a... More

We jumped in cab and headed south to Nightwood after making reservations a couple of weeks prior. Being our first time to Chicago we were surprised how far it was for the city's core. The decor is modern and the food was outstanding, we sat on the patio and had a great evening. The service was attentive and professional and... More

Had dinner with two couples during a week night. A very good choice of dishes offered on Table d'Hote. Open kitchen concept and interesting decor. There was also a very complete wine list. Service was good to fair. Food was very good.

Went to Nightwood on Friday 2/6/15 to partake in the Restaurant Week Menu. The food was excellent. However, the host had us stand around for 10 min., maybe he wanted us to get a drink from the bar, but there were plenty of tables available, didn't understand why they had us stand around looking stupid. Front of the Restaurant is... More

We ate here last month. I was blown away. Everything we ate was top notch but the atmosphere wasn't stuffy. Just go, order food, anything really, and be impressed!

We came for brunch during our week-end visit. The food was good and rich in flavor. The gnocchi dish was the highlight. Service was good but not too friendly. I'm giving 3 as a warning to "tourists" that this spot is quite far from the center and, while good, I think there is a great choice of spots closer to... More

For a freezing cold night the people here and food were both warm and inviting. Great night with friends and the food was terrific. Everything seemed fresh and healthy. Even the double cheeseburger which was enough to split.

Delicious and innovative dishes, with a wonderful wine list - all at accessible prices; no wonder it is so popular! Trendy, small room. Location somewhat dicey, but they call you a cab afterward. Close to the McCormick Place convention center, but not a "convention" or "tourist" spot. Will definitely return on next visit to Chicago,

Located on Halsted, near the art galleries. Parking is on the street, but there was also a valet. The room is fairly large, with different areas available for dining. We did not even know about the kitchen counter until we went to the restrooms. The window seating was comfortable, but also a bit chilly. Our server was excellent. The cocktail... More
