Publican serves up top notch fresh and cured meats, accompanied by a huge craft beer selection and top shelf drinks. The well deserved reputation they have built for themselves commands a slight premium, but definitely worth a visit whether you a local or passing through town.

I went to this restaurant which is mostly communal dining, The restaurant is very loud as all walls and ceilings are hard surface and there is nothing to absorb the sound. It was so loud it was difficult to hear anyone more than 1 seat away. We did the Chefs tasting and I wouldn't recommend it unless you will eat... More

Great food with lots of options. Tried a lot of different plates to share and loved all of them. Good variety of craft beer and wines, and knowledgeable staff who will help you pair the drinks and food. Fast and friendly service even though the restaurant was busy.

Love this place for brunch. Very knowledgeable staff and great food. Can't wait to return for lunch or dinner sometime.

The food is great, the craft and import beer menu seems never ending, and the desserts send you away saying "that was a great place", over and over again. Thank you Anna and The Publican! Great place!

The publican is a must visit for serious foodies looking for non pretentious, good quality food. Brunch was a treat but be prepared for tight communal seating if you aren't a table for 4 and didn't book early. Atmosphere is electric when the crowd builds and the service staff knowledge is impressive. Dishes are hearty and non foodies would be... More

The menu is varied and changes routinely based on availability of local sourced farm fresh produce, meat and such. This is a shared dining experience where the recommendation from the wait staff was two plates per adult and one per child. I would recommend more like 1.5 plates per adult. I was full by the time the last couple of... More

Constantly evolving menu, well portioned meals, cool atmosphere, awesome delicious drinks. Pork tends to be the focus, but you can get any protein you desire. It's not a bbq joint, it's a well established farm-to-table eatery with very creative dishes. HIGHLY recommend if you're willing to experiment a little.

Always love the atmosphere here. If you're a true meat-eater, you'd likely give 5 stars - I did enjoy it very much, but not quite blown away enough for 5 stars (4.5 stars?). Usually order the oysters chef's selection, a couple of the meat entrees and then some of the sides. All is very savory and likely that you'll leave... More

This place is loud and crowded, like a lot of Chicago restaurants. Oysters are offered and are very good. The beer selection is great and the wine selection leaves a lot to be desired. Service is excellent and servers are very helpful. The menu does not provide a good description of the dishes and the dishes range widely in size.... More
