This is my favorite restaurant on Earth. PERIOD.

The Publican is set up like many places, where there are long tables and you sit with strangers. The plus is you can really check out what other diners are having. We had a fun time and the food was fantastic, especially the meat ones. The only disappointment was the chicken liver pasta, it just tasted off. Everything can be... More

My fiancée and I decided to try this place out for Valentine's. We weren't informed that there was a prix fixe menu until arrival, which was fine aside from the fact that the two main dishes both contained mushrooms (which I'm allergic to) so I was forced to eat off the vegetarian menu (what's the point of going to a... I know I was supposed to lose my life over the deliciousness of the cuisine at this joint, and yes, the food was ok. Was it life changing? No. Items that we ordered included The chef's choice oysters were very tasty, accompanied by the standard mignonette sauce - except it was very salty. Also the trio of hams, lovely. Accompanied... Visiting from Toronto and local pals said it was a must visit. Wonderful experience. Server Nick was knowledgable and friendly. Every dish was full of unique combinations of flavours that bordered on perfection. Highly recommend this place for any occasion. Good quality is best in class. So inventive.

Absolutely a share plate dining experience required. The portions are very generous and extremely flavourful including the side dishes! Server provided a good guide to menu ordering. Almost all of the menu items are either made in house and locally or domestically sourced including the extensive craft tap and beer list. Be prepared to gorge your senses with flavour. Service... Publican serves up top notch fresh and cured meats, accompanied by a huge craft beer selection and top shelf drinks. The well deserved reputation they have built for themselves commands a slight premium, but definitely worth a visit whether you a local or passing through town.

I went to this restaurant which is mostly communal dining, The restaurant is very loud as all walls and ceilings are hard surface and there is nothing to absorb the sound. It was so loud it was difficult to hear anyone more than 1 seat away. We did the Chefs tasting and I wouldn't recommend it unless you will eat... More

Great food with lots of options. Tried a lot of different plates to share and loved all of them. Good variety of craft beer and wines, and knowledgeable staff who will help you pair the drinks and food. Fast and friendly service even though the restaurant was busy.
