A fine meat lovers destination.

If meat is your food of choice but want something other than steak, this reataurant is a good choice. There is a variety of pork dishes we tried which were really good (the ribs were great though the accompanying vegetables were on the cold side) and the chcken was a standout. I went for brunch, and it was very delicious. The best parts of the meal was the sticky buns, waffles, cake donut, fries, bacon, and the coffee was particularly good. The staff was professional yet casual, friendly and efficient. I would definitely return.

What a great food experience! They have communal tables, although, we were seated at a table for two. We tried several items, the la quesia ham, oysters (OMG!!!), hamachi, chicken liver pate (smooth!), fried clams and onion rings (best ever!). Very fun place to eat, with excellent farm to table menu! Will be returning!!

If you like pork and pork products, most of the menu at this place is comprised of pork products. I had the Pork Belly Bim Bop and it was amazing. The next time I went there, they didn't have it. That is kind of a bitter sweet thing as they keep changing the menu every couple of weeks to keep... More

Had a great experience at the Publican recently. The atmosphere is casual yet efficient. Service was very knowledgeable and not too pushy. Our waiter suggested an appropriate amount. The wide variety of food choices and family/tapas style led to a leisurely and pleasant meal. I am glad we went!

I knew about the communal tables and didn't really mind them, other than they were very tightly packed. Could have used just a bit more elbow room. We saw many people request other tables and move to individual seating. The food was good, four people shared 6 items and it was plenty. The charcuterie plate was a great sampler with... More

This place was so good! Our party of 4 adults and a 7yo arrived early for an 8pm reservation. We stood reading the extensive beer menu for a few minutes at a standing table at the center of the restaurant when we were told that a table had become available. We were seated and ordered drinks as we reviewed the... More

I should have started with dessert and gone backwards because I didn't have enough room left to truly enjoy it!! The Beer menu is extensive and that could have been the dinner. The meal was superb and the staff wa incredibly friendly.

The food is inventive and delicious. The layout of the restaurant is interesting. It's almost medieval-like with the community tables and closed (stall-like) booths. I do enjoy restaurants that encourage customers to order several dishes and to share them. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it comes with the territory.

Stopped by here for the first time last week and I will be back. 2 blks North of Lake and a few blks West of Halsted, right downtown and what a great staff, choices and enough sausages for any occasion. I treated myself to 6 types of sausage and all have been excellent from Boudin to Snail all good bites.
