Amazing Bacon; A Tad Expensive

I found the Publican to be bit on the pricier side for brunch. The meal was okay (I ordered the french toast) but the bacon was out of this world amazing and I highly recommend it. The atmosphere was pretty unique with large tables shared amongst other guests. If you are more into private dining... read more

Having seen this on a popular TV chefs show, this restaurant didn't disappoint. We started with a charcuterie plate and beet salad. Moved to the sweetbreads and beef tongue - they were awesome. Next time I am in Chicago, definitely headed back. Great service too!

As a party of five at the community table we shared 12 dishes and five desserts. Our server was extremely helpful and staged the delivery of selections in a way that gave us a broad variety of flavours at each presentation. Their beer menu is superb and paired well with our meal. The Grouper cheeks and ribs were the overall... More

I have been to this place and ordered chefs special. I got a chance to taste 10 or 11 of their specialties. Out of this 11 I will rate only one 4 to 5 star the rest is at the most 2 star. I have specifically asked the waiter if the chefs special is heavy on vegetables and he lied... More

The Publican is an informal, noisy space, but the food is unique, well-prepared and tasty! Great beer menu for starters. Very friendly waiter advised us on the menu and kept us from ordering too much--the portions are large. Excellent oysters on the half shell, avocado salad with citrus and roe, and amazing porchetta with clams flavored with rosemary and peppers.... More

I love the communal type seating, and the food was absolutely great. This is a place I can come to on a bi-weekly basis to try something new and enjoy a good brew based on the chef's selection of food. A great treat that won't break the bank.

If meat is your food of choice but want something other than steak, this reataurant is a good choice. There is a variety of pork dishes we tried which were really good (the ribs were great though the accompanying vegetables were on the cold side) and the chcken was a standout. We ordered a half and the portion was big.... More

I went for brunch, and it was very delicious. The best parts of the meal was the sticky buns, waffles, cake donut, fries, bacon, and the coffee was particularly good. The staff was professional yet casual, friendly and efficient. I would definitely return.

What a great food experience! They have communal tables, although, we were seated at a table for two. We tried several items, the la quesia ham, oysters (OMG!!!), hamachi, chicken liver pate (smooth!), fried clams and onion rings (best ever!). Very fun place to eat, with excellent farm to table menu! Will be returning!!

If you like pork and pork products, most of the menu at this place is comprised of pork products. I had the Pork Belly Bim Bop and it was amazing. The next time I went there, they didn't have it. That is kind of a bitter sweet thing as they keep changing the menu every couple of weeks to keep... More
