When in Chicago, you have to listen to what everyone recommends. So, how could we miss Chicago's favorite hot dog options in Protillo's. While i can't say that i will be a regular here, we did ended up coming twice here. - the service is just average, if not just a notch below it. This is a quick food restaurant,... More

Saw the good reviews on this place and decided to give it a try. Warm atmosphere and good eats. I ordered the standard "hot dog" and it offered a different flare to the standard condiments. It had mustard, onions, an emerald green colored relish, a kosher pickle spear, and sport peppers. It was different and was quite good. Prices were... More

Don't understand what all the fuss is about. This is a Chicago institution but it has restaurants all around the city. My Chicago guide said people miss it when they move away. Not sure why.

We love the Chicago hot dogs. These were average. Not bad, not great. For a quick meal that is hot and inexpensive, it's a good stop. Otherwise, an average dog. Service was quick and really friendly. More of a fast food quality, I had expected more.

Portillo's maintains it's good name and eats in spite of strong expansion and longevity. The quality ingredients and rapid service provide great "belly" food in Chicago. The dogs are great, fully dress on a poppy seed bun can't be beat. The Italian beef is the best. Great fro a quick bite.

Ever since Portillo's got bought out, their service has gone downhill. They must have drastically cut the amount of employees working on a shift. Trying to place an order by phone has been screwed up every time and the drive-thru now takes WAY too long. There was a reason why Portillo's made it so big and now some investment firm... More

While in Chicago for a convention had to try some local restaurants we don't have at home. Portillo's didn't disappoint us. My husband and I shared an beef sandwich along with our dogs. The food was great, large dining area with lots of memorabilia on the walls.

Love Portillo's! Everything is delicious and fresh. Italian Beef and Sausage are the best in the business. Seasoned just right and tender, melt in your mouth Beef. Loved the Rigatoni Vodka which I think is better than any fancy Italian restaurant. The Strawberry Shortcake will knock your socks off! Expect a bit of a wait for food if it is... More

I went to the Portillo's on West Ontario Street for lunch one weekday, craving a Chicago-style dog and having never been there before. Their menu is huge and so is the interior of Portillo's. It's a great atmosphere with signed memorabilia all over the walls and plenty of places to sit. Maybe because it was around Christmas time and they... More

I like this restaurant. They have an Italian side and then a fast food side. I love the Italian beef with sweet peppers.
