My second visit here. Always well worth a visit for breakfast or brunch. Full of families, locals, tourists alike. Good menu and all in all a great experience. Many interesting historical photographs on the walls. All the staff very attentive and pleasant. A great place.

And this is coming from a local. And we have a LOT of options in our fine city. I rave about their omelets. The cook prepares the omelets by blending the eggs. I prefer the egg white omelets (have to request) - big, fluffy and delicious! The OJ is fresh, the water is plentiful and the service is always spot... More

Skeptical coming here at first because of the location, but tried it out last week and I'm hooked! Great and fast food! Only reason I gave them 4 stars is we sat by the entrance and the line got very long right by my table. Lots of people standing around my food, creeps me out. Request a table in the... More

This is a small cafe I imagine on busy days you may have to wait for a table. I called in for brunch with on a weekday and luckily someone was just leaving so we got seated straightaway. My friend had described it as a greasy spoon but she felt that it had gone upmarket since her last visit a... More

When we travel, we prefer local, family-owned businesses, and we especially appreciate distinctive neighborhood places. This one is delightful. The Windy City Cafe is in Chicago's River West neighborhood, on the #66 bus line (only a short ride from the Streeterville neighborhood, where we were staying). The cafe has the feel of a "diner," but an especially pleasant one. It... More

Parking is limited in the rear and strret parking is difficult to find on this busy Chicago ave/ Milwaukee intersection. i'd probably give it... More

Just a cafe, but very friendly staff and good food. Very large menu to choose from and all great quality food. Well worth stopping at for a meal if you are in the area.

I wandered over to Windy City Cafe after grabbing a great cup of coffee from Big Shoulders (just across the street). The decor is what you'd expect of a typical corner cafe - kind of tacky, lots of fake plants, but non-offensive! And the staff is extremely friendly. We were greeted immediately. The menu is pretty huge and features a... More

I have never seen this before...when you order 2 eggs with hashbrowns and toast...YOU GET ONE (1) Slice of toast. They don't serve butter unless you ask. When you order french toast you don't get butter or syrup unless you ask..even Cook Country jail serves 2 slices of toast...Can you top this for a place that used to have great... More
