We stopped into Aloha Grill out of happenstance and geographic convenience. The good news is that many of the customers seem to be transplants from Hawaii, which might mean that this is very close to what they call authentic “Hawaiian comfort food.” Not especially familiar with Hawaiian cuisine beyond touristy Luau food like Poi and things served beneath pineapple slices,... Aloha Grill, now Aloha Eats has been my go-to place in Lincoln Park for years when I'm craving for pork or chicken katsu, spam musubi and Hawaiian barbecue chicken. It feels just like Hawaii from the size of the place, the menu and even the Styrofoam boxes that the meals are served in. The servings are huge so I always... More

I've always loved the casual comfort food with a twist that is Hawaiian street food. This place is excellent for it. Very friendly service. Try the chicken Katsu. You'll be addicted. Prices are reasonable and portions are HUGE!

The woman at the counter welcomed me with a warm and inviting smile as soon as I walked in. I felt as if she had known me for years even though this was my first time here. She made me feel right at home as I looked over the menu for a few minutes. The atmosphere is best described as... More

I love this place. You could pass it by in a heartbeat it is so small and hidden along the shops but it is well worth stopping in. Their combo plates with short ribs and beef is so yummy and has some underlying flavor I am on a mission to discover! The staff is very friendly and the chefs often... More

BBQ Mix Plate! The food is so greasy, but it just taste awesome! It's even better with very liberal amounts of Sriracha sauce. It's one of those things where the cheap quality of the meat (short ribs, sliced meat, and chicken are really fatty) somehow add to the whole experience.

Very homey comfort food. I missed out on the spam musubi, but had the pulled pork (so tender)& bbq chicken (it was ok) and washed it down with some POG (passion/guava juice imported from Hawaii). I can't wait to try the katsu and curry dishes.

I can't get enough of this place--good thing it's a mere 5 minute walk for me. Everything I've tried so far (chicken cutlet, bbq chicken, bbq beef, and grilled mahi-mahi) was delicious. Portions are incredibly generous for the prices and include rice and macaroni salad; an extra scoop of rice is the only difference between the plate and mini plate... More
