Pizza to him is considerably different from that which we were weened on. However.......This place is a wonderful exception......We had the Funghi e Salsiccia and it was very good. They also have 3 popular Italian beers available. AND.......If... More

You never are too old to improve your knowledge of any subject and enhance your education. I learned that once again when I read that Spacca Napoli was listed among the 38 essential Chicago restaurants in a 2014 survey by Chicago Eater. Spacca Napoli, opened in 2006 at 1769 West Sunnyside between Ashland and Damen and north of Montrose, is... More

THIS is what a real pizza is meant to be like! I am a huge pizza enthusiast and try to eat one in every city I visit. So during my first trip to Chicago, I asked the concierge where to go to, he recommended Spacca Napoli. I am happy I listened to him. Everything was perfect, the crust, the sauce... More

Having grown up in Chicago I have had many a pie in my time. I went here with friends and my wife. We started with Antipasto Misto and the Poplo Grigriato. The cold cuts on the Antipasto Misto were good but not exactly top of the line. This was especially true of the Prosciutto. The cheese was a much stronger... More

If you're looking for authentic style Chicago deep dish pizza, keep on looking because this is not it. If you your looking for authentic, super tasty napolitean thin crust pizza, this is your spot. The pizza is first rate. Everytime I go here, I literally want to try everything on the menu. The non-pizza dishes and wine selections are also... More

And it was just as delightful as the first time. Six of us shared an appetizer made with eggplant, prosciutto and fresh mozzarella followed by three varieties of pizza. Everything was delicious and then we got desserts which were also fabulous. The tartufo, panna cotta, and tiramisu never disappoint. I will be sad when I no longer have a reason... More

Spacca Napoli is one of the best places for pizza in Chicago, especially when it comes to authentic Napolitan pizza. This is one of two VPN certified pizza places in Chicago, which means they make their pizza exactly like they do in Naples. I highly recommend the Bufalina. We also had the burrata for an appetizer which they import from... More

Somewhat off the beaten path,a short cab ride from downtown, sparkling oasis of excellent Neopolitan food.Pizza margherita was just like I had when living in Naples. The caprese was to die for, with thick slabs of mozzarella and fresh tomatoes.Excellent choices of deserts---two had gelato, while one had panna cotta, all delicious. And the wine we chose,,similar to chianti, from Mondragone and available ONLY at their restaurant... Menu had a nice selection of Italian ingredients (tartufo, mozzarella di bufalo, etc) cook in a wood fired oven. Well worth the trip.

Our Italian friends first told us about the restaurant. The pizzas are just like the ones we had in Italy, super thin crust. They are personal sized. (maybe 6 in?). Everything we had was tasty. I've had lots of tiramisu but I think this was the best I've eaten. Will be back there for sure!
