We went for a coffee and to get some nice pics, and really enjoyed it. The cafe is on the 16th floor of the Trump Tower in an amazing location, so is worth visiting. The view and picture opportunities are great. Chicago has a lovely architecture, having a coffee while admiring it is really nice. The cafe has inside and... More

My husband surprised me with dinner at Sixteen as part of my 60th Birthday Extravaganza. Truthfully, I wasn't looking forward to it. We've eaten at many expensive restaurants around the world, and most have not been worth the money. What a surprise. Some places try to be a step above the rest; this is a staircase. We arrived early and... More

We visited on the first weekend of the new fall menu. The food was absolutely fantastic. Each dish got better and better as the night went on. My wife had the vegetarian tasting menu. It looked awesome! I liked how many of her dishes looked the same as mine even thought the ingredients were different. The vegetarian is not treated... More

I liked everything about this restaurant, but the price. Each course look like a work of art. As if a 10 course dinner weren´t enough, the first one was actually a combination of 4 different amusse-bouche and we got petit four after dessert. If you want to celebrate a special occasion, this is a great place

I was staying at the Langham and we had an event at Sixteen which is just across the street. Initially as you enter the tower I thought this would be one of those sterile affairs that so often trap us in the office areas. However, upon entering the lobby which is extremely impressive and buzzing with all sorts of people,... More

You told me that the 86 miles drive from the suburbs would fly by. You told me that I would find parking near by and the short walk to the restaurnt would simply heighten my appetite. The trip through the lobby and up the elevator was as cosmopolitan as you had described. As you said, the trip to the table... More

We thought we would give Sixteen a try as we wanted to experience michelin dining while in Chicago for a short visit, but could not risk buying a ticket for Alinea and not getting a reservation - however we needed have been concerned as Sixteen was a fantastic dining experience and can understand why it has 2 stars! We loved... More

Had a weeknight set menu dinner with business associates. Outstanding view, bring a jacket or wrap to fully enjoy the terrace as it can get cool even in summer. Started with mushroom confit, salmon tartar, veggie puffs and pork appetizers. Main meal was summer greens salad, Atlantic striped bass, blackberry clafoutis dessert. Everything very tasty and creative combinations. European portions... More

I had been to "16" several times prior but was recently invited to the Sunday brunch. I was blown away by the spread and the taste of this extravaganza, really the best brunch you can get. starting with a complimentary drink, and a wide variety of international dishes that will please anyone I would think. Of course the setting on... More

While I'm sure there are travelers out there who would adore the over abundance of mini-courses, each with its own story, we were not those travelers. The food was plate after plate of so-so tastes with a healthy bill ($200/person without wine pairings, more with). What would have been helpful, is if we had been told while inquiring after the...
