I am a picky eater and while there are a few things here I would not order, I did order the Greek Salad with Feta. It was fresh, sprinkled with Greek herbs and the waitress was great. She brought a cruet of olive oil (the only fat I will eat besides other organic oils like walnut or grape seed) and... More

Good food and family atmosphere! Takes a little too long to get your food if you have a larger (6 or more) group.

I eat breakfast there every weekend I'm in town, sometimes both Saturday and Sunday! Great eggs, blueberry pancakes, and everything else. You've required me to answer the following question but I'm always there with family AND friends. I live in Charleston and eat here a lot.

A great breakfast spot!! My favorite place for biscuits and gravy. They are known for their Strawberry Bread and have some wonderful muffins.

The waitress was very friendly but not overbearing or annoying. Service was fairly quick. Eggs ham toast and hash browns all very tasty. Very cute small town restaurant. Would definitely revisit

While there is always a time and place for an elegant meal, sometimes it is a wonder to find a small town local restaurant that knows what it can do and does it well. What's Cookin' in Charleston, IL, is just that. The atmosphere is not the point, it's just comfortable and family friendly. The wait staff is quick, friendly,... More

By far the best option for breakfast, and even with a large crowd on family weekend at EIU, this place knows how to provide service and do so quickly. Quality of the food is good...don't let the line at the door scare you. The management here nows how to turn keep things moving and so the wait is never really... More

We went their because people around town said it was good. The food was quick and the waiter tried to rush our order because a large group was ordering at the same time we were. Staff was never rude and continue to check up on how we were doing. Everything was wonderful.

Normal array of breakfast choices are tasty, but the strawberry bread is worth taking home. Staff was attentive and food was good. Gets very busy during school year, very lively, but going during the summer is much more relaxed, and service is better. A block or two off the downtown square. Have eaten here 2-3 times for breakfast, during school... More

This restaurant is a town favorite. Talk to the locals for any amount of time and you will find that this place has risen to iconic status. It can't be because of the dated 80's decor or the food that is...well, bland (the other reviews aren't lying). If you are going to eat here stick to breakfast or an occasional... More
