Cheap dive

Even with all the history (since 1960) the place comes across as a dive as every available surface people have signed with permanent marker. Best deal is one trip to salad bar 4.75 and get the 0.50 ice cream cone.

IV's as we locals call it... is an institution. What they do best? Thin crust pizza. If you like thick crust, that's across town. They also have the best kept secret -- a totally underutilized patio. Visitors sometimes find the ordering process a bit confusing...but just hop in line. Menus are near where you order. Then wait for your number... More

The establishment is an older place , but don't let that detour you . Their Pizza is really great and their pizza sauce is one of a kind . I love their sandwiches like their famous Italian Beef. It's super awesome. All in all I love to go here.

The place is interesting and there is always a room after what you think is the last one. Interior seating in abundance, upstairs for groups and venues, and and outdoor patio as well. Though the quality of food in comparison to competition is poor.

When I was a student at siu this place was a staple. Every time I got back which isn't at often as(quatros, pags) this places seems to take a step back every time. The cool part about this place is that the walls are still covered in customers names.

The pizza at IT is still pretty good, but it is nothing like it was 20 years ago. The place needs updating and the service ok at best.

Our party of 12 was able to be seated together, eat great pizza and beverage of choice for less than $150. Perfect for our family.

I have been going here for 40 years. I believe its time to spend some money on the interior. It has not changed since I have been going there except for miner changes. They have built an outside area that is nice when weather permits. But the prices are to high for having to wait on yourself. 20.00+ dollars for... More

If you are expecting a wood fired oven pizza with basil picked from a garden in Tuscany you will be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a good pizza that tastes like it did when you were a kid. You will be pleased. Part of what makes this place desirable is that it has changed very little since my... Italian Village, Carbondale IL, is a restaurant that I have visited for the past 53 years; it was a student staple when I was a student, a family staple when I had children at home; now, the baton of allegiance has been passed down a couple of generations and it is still first choice for cheese, sausage and pepperoni pizza....
