If you are looking for middle of the road food and a super casual atmosphere, then this is the restaurant for you. I realize a lot of their customers are older, but most of the food I've ordered has little to no seasoning so luckily there are salt and pepper shakers on the tables. The waitresses are all awesome...I've never... More

I recently went to Shannon's Five Star Restaurant twice in the past week. Once for Breakfast and Once for Lunch to try their Blue Plate Special (Chicken Fried Chicken). I'm happy to report that I wasn't disappointed with either meal. Breakfast is pretty straight forward. The bacon and eggs were quite good and the coffee was hot and plentiful. Our... More

Here is a huge difference between Shannon's and chain restaurants. First of all is the ownership. You will usually find one of the owners there at any time. The Hostesses are fantastic. The waitresses act like they are having a good time serving customers. The food is delicious. Here is the kicker, they don't try to get you out of... More

Great homecooked food. All of the soups are slendid. Great sandwiches and burgers. If anything, it is a little salty. Otherwise, go! enjoy!

Shannon's is very large diner with a well earned reputation for good food and quick, friendly service. I've eaten at Shannon's a couple dozen times and never had a bad meal. If you're looking for a nice lunch spot serving up comfort food, Shannon's is your place. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken salad and/or salad.

On Sunday mornings, Shannon's has an all you can eat buffet. Half is filled with a variety of fruits. The other half is eggs, sausages, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc., i.e. a good old country breakfast. For $8 you can fill your stomach for the day. The individual menu items may be a little higher than Denny's but you can't... More

If you are traveling through Bloomington/Normal, try Shannon's. If you live in the area, you get the opportunity of finding a place like Cheers. It can feel like home. I mostly eat there only once per week but it is always speciial and they remember me. Great service, great food, reasonable prices. Best of all is the experience. There is... More
