Date night with my husband and we decided to try Jim's Steak House. First thing we noticed was an employee having a smoke directly outside the door, he was nice enough to open it for us all while still smoking. Then upon entering the bar area a smell immediately hit us, it was as if stepping into a nursing home... More

Eaten here about 3 times in the last 6 months. The food is always very good, but it is very expensive. A bit over-priced in my opinion, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

Excellent dining and I'd recommend the fish specials. First time in several years I've eaten here and it was better than I remembered. The sea bass special was incredible. The salad, soup were put together with attention and the service was very good. Great place for a date night. I look forward to my next visit to Bloomington.

First thing you notice when you walk in is the dated decor and not well kept carpet, ceilings and walls. The place is obviously kept so dark for a reason. The owners should reinvest some profit into updating and repairing their restaurant. I didn't order a steak because they are incredibly marked up beyond what they are worth. The chicken... More

The steaks are the best anywhere! Prime Rib is my favorite. Baked potatoes are amazing too, not sure what they do but love it. Best salad is the Maurice or petite Maurice - the petite is not small. Top it with house dressing - made with bacon and sour cream - and other magic ingredients, is the beat ressing anywhere.... More

I travel to Bloomington frequently on business and I never miss a chance to go to Jim's. The steaks are dry aged and absolutely fantastic. I would rate the food on par with any of the top steak houses in the country. The service is superb as well and the piano bar is a nice place to relax with a... More

First thing I noticed was the unpleasant smell of the restaurant. Something between musty and sewer back up. Not at all what I was expecting after viewing the video on their website. Food was good. Prices were reasonable. Waitress was so-so.

Why go to a chain when you can get great food at a lower cost at a local iconic restaurant. Burgers are the best in town and less costly than the chains. Great steaks. My favortie for lunch is the Maurice salad with Brittany dressing. It is a chef type salad but the dressing is like no other.Get it on... More

We apparantly walked in the 'wrong' door. The staff was rude, didn't want to serve us. The steaks were dry. I haven't been back.

If you go to Jim's, and there are several reasons why tou should, order a steak. Don't get sucked in by seafood specials. This place is known for cooking steaks to perfection, for their fabulous house dressing, and their attention to detail. We experienced all of those things once again. From perfectly made drnks in chilled martini glasses to piping... More
