Went to the restaurant based on Tripadvisor reviews and because within walking distance of motel. Everything was as we would want in a restaurant - pleasant ambience without any pretensions, attentive but not too chummy wait staff, delicious food based on fresh ingredients. We even enjoyed the background music which was an eclectic mix, from Irish to classical...

This family-owned restaurant offers a wide variety of authentic Italian dishes. The house-made sauce and the pizza are the best we have had in Bloomington/Normal.

I heartily concur with other reviewers: If you do not care for chain restaurant fare--which severely limits your dining options in Blo-No, enjoy a menu that offers regional Italian fare, made fresh to your order. The quality of food has improved over the past 18 mo. in my bi-monthly visits for lunch or dinner. Not to be missed are the... More

When I read other reviews discussing how this place is not really Italian, it confuses me. I come from an Italian family and have traveled to Italy / Southern Italy. The owner of the restaurant is southern Italian. The food is truly homemade and different from any other Italian restaurant in town. I admit to still liking places like Olive... More

I was in Bloomington on a business trip and my clients suggested we go here for a reasonably priced lunch, The food was very good and the staff pleasant. It is an excellent option if you want to escape a chain restaurant and support local people.

We ate here only once. I ordered the Mushroom Ravioli in cream pesto sauce and it was fantastic. The food per se is not Italian. Dead give away is the addition of cream to every sauce. Italians put cream in dessert, not in main courses. Speaking of dessert, I had the world's worst lemon cake there. So gross. I can't... More

The service was good. Very clean and inviting. Lots of parking. I ordered the lasagna. Not bad, nothing special. Really wish it came with a house salad. My friend ordered the fettuccini alfredo. She said it was OK, but didn't have much flavor. We had the stuffed mushrooms which were very good. The best thing was the gelato. Many flavors... More

The food is fresh and delicious. The service staff knows the menu well and make great suggestions. They have a positive professionals manner which is modeled by the owner who is always there. We frequent several times a month. The only down fall is it has ruined so called Italian restaurants like Olive Garden which can never compare to Cafe... More

This restaurant really IS like a little slice of Italy! Frank, the owner, said he creates the foods he grew up on in Sicily and they are delicious. We started with a glass of Chianti and another person in our party tried Frank's home made Limon cello. There was also a featured wine but no one tried it. We then... More
