Description: Eckert's Country Store and Farms is the largest family-owned and operated...
Eckert's Country Store and Farms is the largest family-owned and operated pick-your-own orchard in the United States. Established as a farm and simple roadside stand, the Eckert family now owns and operates farming, entertainment and retail entities in Belleville, Grafton and Millstadt in southwestern Illinois. For a century, Eckert's has served the bi-state region as a local source for agricultural products including pick-your-own strawberries, blackberries, peaches, apples, pumpkins and Christmas trees during the growing season. Today, Eckert's offers an experience that extends beyond pick-your-own produce to include the Eckert's Country Store & Garden Center, and the newly expanded Restaurant. Eckert's offers specialty foods, meats, wine and cheese selections, as well as a range of classes, including cooking and wine classes for adults, and special children's activities for families to enjoy throughout the year.

Fun Day for all

Visited on a Thursday, when kids eat free....yikes, it was packed! But, it was worth it. We had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes (skin on), gravy, green beans and whole kernel corn. It was very good, and no pepper for those on restricted diets. The little biscuits with apple butter are... read more

Drove an hour to pick blackberries... not only was I told "that ended on Sunday" and today is Thursday, July 30, but there weren't any blackberries in the store either. The website said blackberries were available to pick and to purchase in the store. I'd call before driving out. We tried the fried chicken and it was dry and mediocre,... More

We discovered Eckert's from our PBS "member card" and thought we'd give it a try on a drive back to Indiana after visiting St. Louis. It is an attractive set of buildings with a "down home" country look. Service was excellent in the restaurant but in all honesty the food was only so-so. My husband's fried chicken had been over... If you want to pick fresh strawberries, peaches, or apples when they're in season, go to Eckert's. You can also buy them and other seasonal vegetables, in the grocery store along with pastries, and salsas. The restaurant offers a nice place to sit and eat a good meal. There is a large parking lot and an activity area for the... More

They had all kinds of treats and different sorts of thing but I did notice is was kind of pricey. We didn't do anything past the store since it was a quick trip on the way to Iowa but I would like to look around more when I have more time next year at nationals trap shooting.

I sent an email to Eckert's per their request on June 22, 1015. Amanda has not answered it yet. I feel like they don't really care about problems because they are such a busy place.

We use to come here a lot. Not much anymore. The prices went up and the food went down. They have all u can eat chicken and dumplings. This use to be our reason to go. Now, they are awful. 5 of us went and ordered them and all 5 left disappointed. Its more like soup than chicken and dumplings... More

Went in for a 4:00PM dinner. That was a mistake. All the food had been cooked way before that time and was not fresh at all. The chicken had been sitting around for a while and overcooked. The rest of the meal was left over from lunch and was barely warm. Corn and green beans appeared and tasted like they... More

Had the occasion to stop in the Eckert's Country Store last week and was taken back by the meat department! Exceptional meat! We weren't even in there for meat, but when we walked in front of the meat counter, we were amazed!
