Good for lunch

I have heard this place can be quite crowded on the weekends for dinner, but we went for lunch and it was not crowded at all. The server was very appropriately attentive and had a friendly personality. The atmosphere has an air of simplicity, and is tastefully done. We shared a few dishes and... read more

It was a warm Friday at 6:00 p.m. and the restaurant was crowded, including the diners on the outside patio. The food was delicious, especially the Orange Peel Chicken and won ton dessert. It was very noisy in the dining room and I wonder if the bar area would be a little quieter. The next night we ordered "to go"... More

Carryout - basil chicken had too much dried basil. Not spicy. Kung pow just ok. Very bland. Not sure we will go back because we asked for extra spice.

We had an 8:45 reservation on a Friday night hoping to miss most of the crowd. Recommend getting a reservation on weekends. The atmosphere was lively with a great mix of customers and a lot of energy in the air. It's a smaller place but good selection of tables or booths for more intimacy. After a long day we nearly opted... More

The food is quality! Ingredients authentic, preparation consistent with the best Chinese restaurants in USA. I've been to great Chinese restaurants in Chicago and NYC -- this place competes with the best there is. Add to that service which is classy, friendly and you'll find a spectacular experience here. The bar is fun and lively; a great place to meet... More

The owner was previously the general manager of Ben Pao, one of Lettuce Entertain You best restaurants which, for reasons unknown, closed. Ergo, PL8 was started in Barrington, bringing the best Asian fusion to the area. Every entree and the sushi are winners....especially enjoy the soups, stir fried spicy green beans, and the lobster roll. A real treat !

Got to the restaurant for a 7:15 reservation but was not seated until 7:30. This would have been ok but we had to pick up our kids at 8:20 so we felt rushed until Kylie with a hurt hand became our waitress. Very nice and made us not feel rushed and yet got our food out promptly. Food was great... More

PL8 welcomes diners to an attractive, upscale dining room at the Foundry. Billing itself as Asian Fusion, PL8 delivers on the promise with a wide-ranging menu offering a variety of fare. I recently met two colleagues there for lunch, and all of us enjoyed our selections. Appetizers were highly spiced and very delicious. Main courses were equally delicious and beautifully... More

Everything that everyone had in our group was excellent. My chicken orange peel and my wife's beef Mongolian were excellent. Service was also excellent.
