Always good, never great

The Ram Restaurant is part of Sun Valley, so it is not independent nor does the chef deviate from the printed menu. The service was wonderful, Larry the piano player is the high point of our visits to the Ram. That said, we have never had a bad meal at this restaurant.

I think my title says it all. We ate at the ram for our anniversary dinner and were sorely disappointed. The menu stated that my wife salmon came with fennel and roasted tomatoes there was one cherry tomato and a slice tiny slice of fennel who knew that you had to order a side. in order to have enough. The... More

We had a very nice meal in the Ram Restaurant over the Christmas Holidays. The staff was terrific. There was a hiccup with the reservation (they lost it, but remembered me) but they quickly recovered. The food was very good, but a bit pricey. I think we just had such a great time with the cocktails and wine that we... More

The Ram has a good reputation but is part of the Sun Valley shops which means it doesn't really have to live on its own. As a result, things. We're very disappointing at dinner. There were 3 main problems: 1. The service - it was abysmal. Stretched too thin, no food runners, and could barely do the minimum. Our waitress... More

Ordered the steak oscar style, and my wife the scallops. The service and food was excellent. Yum. Desserts were de-lish.

My most favorite thing to do on Thanksgiving Day is to ski the first runs of the year on Bald Mountain and go for an early Thanksgiving Dinner with just my husband. It is reliably delicious and the atmosphere is charming and somehow I feel like I've taken a two hour vacation to the Alps. Purely delightful. The rest of... More

Best mac and cheese ever! Great patio and the helped keep the kids happy with bread for the ducks. The overall vibe of the RAM is perfect for families and the lunch prices fit our budget.

We recently visited the Ram Restaurant for dinner since the value restaurant (Konditeri) is only open Wednesday through Saturday! The SV Lodge Dining Room is gone as an extensive remodel is under way over there! At the Ram, we discovered high food prices and high wine markups, but nicely prepared food. The portions were so small that we felt that... More

The food here is delicious but they provide average portions for an expensive price. Great flavors but expect to pay for it!

I was fortunate to have my latest birthday meal at the Ram. I had the nectarine and goat cheese salad with pignoli brittle. The nectarines were sliced carpaccio style, with some nice olive oil and black pepper. It was light and fresh-tasting. My husband had the elk tenderloin, which he said was cooked perfectly. I had a bone-in buffalo rib... More
