Best place to eat while in Stanley and if you miss out and don't eat here, it's your own fault!! Excellent presentation of food and atmosphere is relaxing. If the antelope is on the menu, I highly recommend it!

They are not open every night, so call ahead. Sun Valley quality cuisine in Stanley, white table clothes, attentive refined service. Menu is all 4 course dinners, no a la carte. Choices are varied and seasonal, all attractively prepared. The wine list is small but well selected. Four of us were all well pleased, and surprised to find such a... More

Melinda and Shane (the chef), owners, have perfected a high-class, small venue, restaurant, that you can experience in a wilderness location - Stanley, Idaho. We loved it enough to go both nights we were there. The Antelope is amazing, as is the Chilean Bass or Steak (all that we tried). Literally everyone in the restaurant with us was raving about... We have tried almost all the places to eat in this area. We had a the most amazing dinner. The food was amazing something you would expect in the big city. Passionate chef you can tell and the service was exceptional!

This restaurant is located in the hotel where we stayed (Stanley High Country Inn) although not the same company. The food was one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere. My husband had the antelope which I was still thinking about the next day and I only got one bite! I had the Chilean sea bass which was... More

For a group of Sawtooth Wilderness day-hikers usually content with modest dinner victuals during our week’s adventures, we up-scaled to the Back Country Bistro one evening and WOW! The 10 of us tried everything on the menu, and all reported amazement at the unique and wonderful tastes of the superb food, exquisitely presented, and gracefully delivered. The four-course pre-fixe menu... More

We celebrated our anniversary at Back Country Bistro. It was hands down the best meal we have ever had!! The four course meal was beyond comparison, each course equally mouth watering. Fresh ingredients, lovely atmosphere, great people and a very talented chef made our visit one to remember.

The chef's a bloody genius. I don't know how he does it in the closet of a kitchen but the food is outrageously good and a steal at the price. And you can BYOB. If you're within an hour's drive you should eat here (it puts most if not all of Sun Valley to shame).

On 4 July, a group of 27 arrived for dinner; we had reserved the entire restaurant since it is usually closed on Thursdays. Melinda, Ashley and Chef Shane did an amazing job. The fried shrimp appetizers were as fresh as any I have had in Houston, and the Caesar salads were delicious. The Chilean Sea Bass was grilled to perfection,... More
