Overall, we love the Shady Nook. The only thing I'd ever change is that it's pretty dark inside, and not in a romantic way. Also it's a tiny bit over priced IMO, but it's so yummy we don't mind that part.

This place is really unexpected in a little backwoodsey town. The meals are first class. While having an excellent meal sitting next to the windows, we were visited by a young buck deer who was unaware of us, happily munching on the flowers just outside. Couldn't have been more that 5 feet from me.

Friendly motel staff referred me to this restaurant for dinner, which was within easy walking distance. Menu offered a variety of substantial meals. Best of all, young waitress was friendly, enthusiastic and attentive. She made my dining experience very charming.

Was passing through just for the evening and decided to give it a try. Appears to be the "finest dining" establishment in town. Our food was excellent, but didn't come cheap. A bit of a delay in the arrival of the entrées...but worth the wait. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Decent beer and wine selection. If ya wanna have more... More

We paid $85 for ribeye, with all the side's and a bucket of clams AND cocktails. Everything was so perfect, we went back the following night. Highly recommend this fun and lively place.

good service. clean and quiet. good variety on the menu, from steak to pasta to seafood. who would ever expect walleyed pike from the great lakes or alligator from Louisiana on a menu in salmon Idaho, population 3,000??? fairly pricey for Salmon Idaho, my ribeye steak was $29.

It is very convenient to walk the 100 yards from the Stagecoach Inn. I would recommend eating in the bar area as the atmosphere was cozy and alive. Travellers we met at the hotel had the steak and said it was good. We ate in the dining area (which was fine) and had pasta but neither of us enjoyed it.... More

Bills itself as the "high end" best steak and seafood in the area. The night I was there the bar was full and the dining room was just about empty. Their menu showed a "rare salmon" with soy and ginger.... sounded wonderful. I was then told... no salmon until the weekend. I'm in Salmon... and no salmon?? Got a steak.... More

We were in Salmon to take a Salmon river rafting trip. Our group ate at the Shady nook the night before we left. The food was very good and the service super nice. This restaurant has been around for 30 years or more and has a following. There is a lovely outside seating area.

Always a treat to be in Salmon visiting with family. It was a nice evening so we ate outside. Our server was excellent & friendly. My son in law & daughter ordered a spicy gazpacho that they shared with us. It was tasty. The best meal was the fresh Alaska Copper River salmon-cooked to perfection. The barbecue ribs & chicken...
