Bert and Kate's is now just Kate's, and if you're looking for the sign it's the "Cattlemen's." It looks good and it smells good but we didn't eat there. It's a small place and it was jammed with people celebrating Kate's mom's birthday. She recommended the Seven Devils (see that review).

Kate is the owner, cook, baker, waitress, dishwasher and maintenance woman. Bert has passed away. The restaurant is open at 5:00 am, 7 days a week, unless she is crabby. Bakes fresh bread and rolls every morning. A good basic breakfast with friendly staff. Looked like a locals favorite. Went back a few days later and had berry cobbler. Great!

Kate is a small, spry, energetic little restaurant owner that has a terrific sense of humour. My wife and I enjoyed the banter between her and a number of patrons who were in that morning. She is a witty lady. She made the meal enjoyable just listening to her and the customers.

We are bicycling cross country through small town USA and our meals have ranged from the great to the less than memorable. We ate breakfast (2 times) and lunch here. Each time the food and service were tremendous and the staff exceptionally friendly. We talked with Kate, the owner, and she is a lovely lady, as was the waitress. Kate... More

Kate opens the doors every day at 5 am, so no matter what time you're hungry for breakfast, she'll be ready for you. She's a good cook and a delightful person. She has a wealth of knowledge about things to see and do in the area and she also can give you some great tips about local fishing. The cafe... More

Kate herself did our meal. Honest about what she's serving, pays attention to our needs and knows just about anything about the area you might want to know. Priced right.

Came here for breakfast. It was quite busy due to the local Steelhead Salmon fishing. No one greeted us. We found our own table, pretty sure this is what you do anyway although there was no sign. Took forever to get a menu, then even longer to get our food. Listening to the staff it sounded like they were short... More

We had a private dinner at Bert and Kate's Cattlemen's Family Restaurant this week. We all had the prime rib with salad, red potatoes, asparagus with holladaise sauce, and homemade rolls. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and the sides were delicious. The homemade rolls melted in your mouth and you couldn't turn down the homemade chocolate gnache for... More
