Great food with lacking service

The carne asada tacos and guacamole are awesome. The prices are amazing, but the service is always lacking. Servers will walk right passed you and not even acknowledge you. Great little place to have a quick bite, it is small inside so be prepared to wait or go at a time that's not busy.

Started going to El Herradero when was just a food truck in the parking lot of Cal Ranch in Pocatello. When there restaurant opened my family have become regulars. Great beans and rice. My favorite is the spicy pork burrito, but the other menu items are all excellent. Good selection of Mexican beers. The guacamole is a bit weak. Be... More

Went here off a recommendation and was surprisingly good. Serve chips with a green salsa and refried beans, a nice change. Had the beef tacos, which are more like street tacos and oh so yummy! Scooped some of the green salsa and really completed the dish. Rice was just OK, could have been cooked a little longer, but still definitely... More

This is one of the best in town, if not the best. The price is very affordable for the amount and quality of food that you receive. You might ask what is good? EVERYTHING! The special of the day alway provides great options. It makes my month water just righting this review. They have several location through the town including... More

This place is lightyears ahead of other places in town like Mama Inez, Senior Iguanas, Chapela's, etc. I felt so lucky to have found this place - both locations are small, but the food is the same at each and the atmosphere is busy and pleasant. The chips and salsa are very good, service is friendly and frequent enough, except... More

We had lunch here today and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty, service was good and price was great. I had the tostada combo, my husband had the fajita burrito (huge! ), a Chile relleno and drinks for just under $20. I would go back.

We had a fun night of dining. Great fajitas and burritos. I hear the breakfast burritos are also delicious. Young waitress was a delight.

I read the reviews of el Herradero and it is very highly rated. After going there I found it is like a drive thru Mexican fast food place with tables and tips expected. Food is very inexpensive and the quality is why. Asada (beef steak) was tough, grisly, and over-cooked. The burrito had little filling other than a few chunks... More

Two dinners for under $15 is very reasonable. I ordered the chicken burrito combo. I believe the menu said chicken, sour cream & cheese in a tortilla. All I got was chicken. It was well seasoned with a little moisture, but it needed the sour cream & cheese. My husband ordered the 3 regular ground beef enchiladas. They had melted cheese & enchilada... El Herradero is a small family owned place with great Mexican food at very reasonable prices. I love their tacos! they come with two 6" tortillas, meat, onions, cilantro, and salsa. All for $1.25! two tacos and your full, three and you are stuffed. so throw in a drink and you have a great lunch or dinner for under $5.
