I had been recommended this pub several times and thought I'd give it a go. Walked in at 7:30 and the place was completely empty..... I had booked a table but smiled to my friends as not sure why I had. Food was so so, nothing special, oh except the onion rings they were amazing. Had the main course and... More

We recently had a very nice lunch at the Dog & Duck with a group of friends. The food was very good, helpings were large, and service was friendly (if a little slow). However, our jaws dropped when we were charged £2.30 for a small Coca Cola served from the bar "gun". We thought that this was overcharging in the... More

Went for drinks with my partner's work friends one evening near Christmas. There was a group of around 10 of us with a tab behind the bar for drinks. There were a few locals there when we arrived at 8pm but all had gone by 9.30 ish. We ended up being the only ones there and even though we were... More

Visited this Pub for a meal on a Saturday for a late lunch. The menu offered is standard pub food sourced primarily from wholesalers. The vegetables had the appearance of being either over cooked or re-heated. FOOD NEEDS TO IMPROVE The décor is fresh and the premises mainly clean. However the Gents toilets were unkempt with the door lock non-existent and... More

An old world pub fused with a modern extension over looking the duck pond. Attentive staff and solid pub grub with enough taste and bulk to make it a go to when the pangs of hunger call in the vicinity, though not somewhere to make a special trip too if your not from around them parts.

The Dog and Duck is just off the M23 and a good stopping point for my sister from London and me from Brighton, so we met here for Sunday lunch. The pub area is compact and cosy and the dining area quite large. The service is always friendly and attentive, although it can get a bit overwhelmed by the sheer... More
