This is now my local, even though I don't live in Outwood. With new owners, this is now head & shoulders above other pub/restaurants in the area. The staff are polite, helpful & good fun to talk to & the menu is all you would expect & more, from a venue like this. They have a good menu & a... More

Such a relief to see the Dog and Duck back in very capable hands. We have been back several times as it is our nearest walkable pub. The staff are excellent and the new manager is very welcoming and friendly. The menu is simple but with really good choice, and the portions are very generous. Would thoroughly recommend eating here.

Yesterday was one of our biggest dining surprises yet. We went to the Dog and Duck with mixed feelings, having heard negative comments relating to locals being rather rowdy in the bars. This may be the case on some occasions -I can only speak from my own experience, and yesterday was one of the best Sunday lunches we have had... More

Took the family out for dinner on Saturday night (Aug 2nd) to the Dog & Duck. Food was great, glad we all had an appetite, servings were very generous. Having the dining room open out to the garden meant the kids could play in the play area, without having to wait at the table. They loved it! Wendy looked after... More

A lovely pub which has recently changed hands. Good for families with children and dogs, plenty of walking around the area. Menu not very extensive and typical pub type food offered. I had the chicken which was lovely, very big portion, but the vegetable were very over cooked and the peas had a hint of grey to them. My son... More

Stopped by here yesterday for lunch (Saturday 2nd) What a wonderful find. The ladies had the chicken salad and said it was as good as any they'd had. We had the Scooby burger. Wow, make sure you have an appetite. Two well seasoned home made burgers, onion rings, bacon, cheese, in a bun with BBQ sauce, coleslaw, chips......stuffed. Extremely attentive... More

We received a good welcome and the lady serving in the restaurant was charming. The restaurant area is well appointed, with good decor. Not everything on the menu was available. The food was good, well cooked but perhaps too large a portion. There are pleasant areas to sit in the garden, which has a pond. Choose the restaurant rather than... More

Came for a visit to have a lunch with my mum. When we first arrived and looked for a table outside we were a not worried it wouldn't be suitable as mum is disabled and can't sit at a picnic bench. However we moved in side and found a lovely table near the back door. We chose sandwiches from the... More
