Went on a Wed night 6pm - no wait - we were seated immediately. Service was very attentive, and the food was very good. We had the trout special and the prime rib. Salad was very fresh, sourdough bread was hot. Only thing I'd change is the music playlist. I'm not sure if they play the same music on the... More

We eat here every time we go to Ketchum. I live 230 miles from there in Boise. We love this place. Bar is great and prim rib is the best. Prices are above average but you will enjoy this place if you like a western style restaurant. I have only had one meal out of many that was not good.... More

Very good, dark and crowded with cowboy and taxidermeed animals in the front bar area. Value is OK, we waited an hour to get in on a Saturday night in August. Not sure I would do that again. Service was good, not great but I would recommend this place once. Now that I've been there I'm not sure I would... More

It's a staple on Main Street - but the fact is the food is not good. It's poor quality. The meat is more fat than meat - not the case in year's passed - but the quality has really gone down. Frankly, it's looking tired inside. I would suggest they close down and scour the place and freshen it up... More

I've been dining at The Pioneer Saloon for about 25 years now. We spend our summers in Sun Valley but we do not dine here every summer. Last night I returned to 2 close friends for a late night bite to eat. It was close to 9:30PM so we were seated right away. (in summer it can be over 1... More

I come here 4-5 times a year and it is my favorite dinner restaurant of all time. It can get EXTREMELY busy at prime dinner time in the busy times of the year so go early or late. No reservations allowed. Wait staff is nearly always excellent. Atmosphere is cowboys and dead animals, and you'll find that the menu is... More

See the largest real buffalo head just above one of Hemingway's shotguns in this dive of a bar. Great drink selections and service, we did not eat though.

This has to be the most over-rated restaurant in Ketchum. All local businesses we asked recommended this place first when we asked where to eat. After eating here once, none of us will go back. We thought the 30 minute wait would be worth it, but boy were we wrong. The server didnot know the menu, she gave us the... More

We were in town for a few days staying at the Sun Valley Resort. We decided to venture out one night and check out a local restaurant. The Pioneer was highly recommended by someone we knew. We were not disappointed - a very casual and fun place. Tasty chips and salsa while we waited with a nice red wine. Service... More
