Delicious food, great servers, the food is worth the wait. It's my husband's favorite place for a giant steak! We go here for special occasions ;)

Most of our group had never been here before. We arrived at 4:50 and they begin seating for dinner at 5:30. we had a few beers in the bar with complimentary chips and salsa. as soon as it was time they sat us all down. Lots of choices, lots of beef. We all ordered beef and one person upgraded to... More

Took the family out 2 nights ago to the Pioneer Saloon, a Ketchum/Sun Valley landmark. You haven't been to SV unless you have eaten here. Food was great, especially the beef ribs (nearly half a cow), and the drinks are large and fairly priced. Don't forget to order the MEGA Idaho baked potato. Bar was packed, as usual, and the... More

This place is an institution, has a reputation, draws a crowd (wait times are long), but it is worth a stop if this is your first or only time in Sun Valley.

Pioneer is kind of small, but has a great bar area, so expect it to be a little loud and a little cramped. It is a simple menu, with no kids fare, but the steaks are pretty good. I do not think it is worth a long wait, but if you have some time to kill, and want an old... More

Exceptional food. Share a meal. For a minimal sharing charge, you will have more than enough to eat. CAUTION: Arrive before 5:30PM if you wish to eat without a long wait. Restaurant does not take reservations so there was a long wait for those arriving after 6 PM.

The Pioneer is "the" place to go in Ketchum, whether you're a local or an out-of-towner, many would say the Pio embodies the Sun Valley experience. I think there are other options. First of all, expect to wait at least 60 minutes for a table. While munching on cheap, stale chips and salsa, a cute waitress in cowboy boots and... More

very few restaurants have had the same off the menu special for twenty years or so, but for whatever reason, the excellent stuffed trout (Idaho trout, of course) has always been available and never been on the menu. 45 minutes in the bar area has never been our idea of fun, and reservations are possible only for large groups so... Fun place for local atmosphere and good food ... within the group we were dining we had the trout, pork chops, and steak >>> all were outstanding. Leave room for dessert

When visiting Ketch/Sun Valley one must go to The Pio. Reservations are not accepted, so there can be a wait. The people watching and friend gathering spot of the town. The bar is active and the food is wonderful. The baked potatoes are hugh! The decor is very special depicting the area. The meals are yummy!
