Trout Hunter is great in many ways. It has comfortable, clean rooms if you need a place to stay. Their food is good and they offer a variety of items. The chef works to provide a beautiful looking, good tasting meal. In the summer you can eat on their patio. It sits by the river and is a great place... More

Stopped off for lunch between stops on the river. Our party had the burger (w/bacon), grilled chicken salad & turkey BLT. All were solid. Good beer choices & coffee was good. Must stop for hungry fishermen.

It's fall. THere are locals, fly anglers in search of brown trout, and very few Yellowstone tourists. Most everything is closed until the winter season kicks in. Thankfully Troutwater remains open. The food is great and the menu has good variety. The service is fast and friendly--and the bar well stocked. An oasis for sure.

After a day of exploring Island Park we stopped at TroutHunter for a bite to eat. We sat outside on the patio and really enjoyed it. Having the river, some wildlife and a few fisherman on the water made for very nice scenery. Food was good and service was average. We would go back again.

At first glance the restaurant looks more like a sports bar, but the menu selection is varied, food is well prepared, the portions are substantial and you go away feeling that you received good value. Three of us were on a fishing trip and stayed for two days in Island Park, and ended up eating here for both breakfast and... More

Stopped at the TroutHunter for lunch on a bike trip across country. Had their 3 slider lunch, it was excellent. The first slider was a Buffalo slider with cheese, the second was an Elk slider with a special sauce, the third was home made game sausage with onions. Service was decent, great ambiance, and great views. Stopped there for lunch... More

I read the reviews on Trip Advisor for this restaurant and decided to give it a try for dinner. We were very happy with the quality of the food. We all ordered the burgers and they were fabulous! I'm pretty sure that the meat patty was 1/2 a pound! Its was a 1/2 pound of deliciousness! Each one was cooked... More

My daughter, the husband's aunt, and I went here for lunch on a Monday. We sat inside under the mounted deer and moose heads; however, patio seating has a beautiful view of the river. My daughter ordered mac & cheese -they have large rigatoni in a creamy cheese sauce. No box mac n' cheese here! The husband's aunt ordered the... More

Once again we stopped here at sundown passing through Island Park. Great views while dining. We started with Funeral Bacon Potatoes, something I had never heard of. What a wonderful explosion of flavors. I moved on to their Cardiac burger. A hamburger that when cooked is about 3/4" thick, cooked to perfection deserves recognition. Plate presentations are always excellent. Service... More

Inside or Out (with the mosquitoes), there is such a peaceful feeling while dining. The food is very good and they serve the best bloody marie's on the mountain as far as we're concerned.
