This is one of my favorate places in Idaho City. The owner, Trudy, is serious about people getting good food and lots of it. They have pies and desert there that are, well, sinfully good and big portions.

Great menu. The breakfast was hot & good tasting. Fast service, and it was on a Sunday morning with a group of about 12 adults. Friendly staff & good value pricing. Clean area & decent rest rooms as well. Would always recommend this as a place to eat!

I rode with relatives up to Trudy's from Boise. It was an enjoyable drive. Very nice scenery on the way up. At Trudy's, the food was great and as busy as they were, they were very fast bringing out our meals. The waitress was excellent. It was a very busy Friday night, but we were never made to feel like... More

We came from California to visit a friend in Wilderness Ranch and he recommended breakfast at Trudy's. It was the day before Thanksgiving so we figured it wouldn't be too crowded. We were right. Only a couple of tables with locals enjoying their breakfast and conversation. My wife loved all of the antiques and the décor. I loved the menu... More

We were out on the road on Thanksgiving and stopped at Trudy's Kitchen because the lot was full and the lights were on. However, the restaurant was closed and she was serving dinner for her friends and family. We were just going to get a few pieces of the mile high pies and leave, but she invited us to stay... More

A popular place for locals and those in the know about Idaho City. I find the servings big and can split a hamburger/fries and be filled up. The huckleberry cheesecake is yummy, and almost a meal in itself. Friendly service, but sometimes slow if a packed house.

Saw some good comments on Trip Advisor about this place, so we planned to have lunch there-- our first trip to Idaho City. We were there off season and on a Tuesday, the whole little touristy town was rolled up and sound asleep-- they said that happens a lot on Monday, Tuesday, especially off season. But Trudy's was in full... More

Everyone we asked said this was the place to eat. Very disappointing. I asked for a grilled cheese on white bread (since I'm supposed to avoid whole grain products). I got wheat bread anyway. The sandwich was cold and limp, didn't even seemed like it had been grilled. The drinks we ordered still had not arrived half way through the... More

While passing through Idaho City on our way to a wedding near by, we had some time and needed a snack! The place was packed but we were greeted immediately and with smiles! We found a seat on the front porch and our waitress, Amber, arrived quickly to provide menu's. Without looking at the menu we asked if they serve... More
