I know people come for the pies, guess bigger is better for many folks. If quantity is your thing, than this is your place. Breakfast is the best bet here, lunch and dinner are both good enough, but nothing to write home about.

Sometimes, I go snowshoeing above Idaho City just to work off the calories I'm going to consume in Trudy's pie afterwards. I try to stop almost at Trudy's when I'm going through Idaho City. Tonight, we had Cheesy Chicken and Bacon soup. It was fantastic and was just the thing we needed to warm up after a day of snowshoeing.... More

We stopped in on a Sunday morning on our way to fish the North Fork of the Boise River. We each had a different meal and all were delicious. Aimee's omelet was perfection ... the fillings done but still had a snap, and the eggs were as fluffy as clouds. My French toast was done to a turn and the... More

Being a semi-regular at Trudy's I was surprised yesterday by our experience. We drive up once in a while to Idaho City for lunch there, check some spots, maybe do some shopping/photos. We got there at 1:30 or so, they were about 1/2 to 3/4 full. I had to ask for the table to be wiped, dirty. Waitresses very fast... More

This is a very nice place to have breakfast if you go to Idaho City. Price per person for breakfast are about $ 12 per person, and 3 can share 2 orders, so big they are. And delicious! It is close to everything and is very fun

The trip was intended for seeing historic Idaho City, but was ultimately made enjoyable by an absolute first-class, home-cooked meal at Trudy's. So make the trip to Trudy's, you won't regret it!

We took an afternoon drive from Boise up the Lowman Loop, stopping for lunch at Trudy's in Idaho City on the advice of a guidebook. I had one of the best salads I've eaten in my life and my partner had a fantastic sandwich. The soup was out of this world. My only disappointment was that the popular huckleberry pie... More

Idaho City is a great escape only an hour drive from Boise we have gone about 3 times since my brother moved to Boise. This was the first time at Trudy's Kitchen for lunch. The finger strips are all hand but chicken breast, home made batter and were out of this world. We also had no complaints for those that... More

My family and I come up here several times a year to get away from the town life. Great location and real fun to walk around the area. When we arrive we end up renting a cabin from trudys and eat our meals here. Wonderful food, plenty of it and the pies are huge! I love this place and so... More
