This restaurant is kind of small for general seating but it also has outdoor seating area and a separate dining room area for a group that would seat about 20. There is a small bar. The food has always been good. I usually get the chopped pork sandwich (similar to pulled pork) with a side of steak fries and BBQ... More

When this place opened near our house in East Boise, I stopped in and had a burnt ends sandwich and was hooked. Numerous Burnt ends and brisket later, they closed and moved across town (into the space that was the Macaroni Grill. It was 3 times larger, and likely 3 times cheaper, so I get it -it makes financial sense...We... More

Service was good, Jalapeño Poppers were awesome. We chose one of the meat plates with sides so were able to try a variety of offerings. The meats were tender and had a very mild smokey flavor. To me the sauces were just average. BBQ sauces are certainly a matter a choice so it is really something you have to make... More

Where to start, I guess the first point is the people who worked there were polite but beyond that... Well let's get to it, The chicken 1/4's that both my business associate and myself was cold, refrigerator cold, meaning it was precooked, stored in a refrigerator and was supposed to be heated before being served but they forgot that part.... We sat outside on a Wednesday evening. A country band started playing around 8pm and they sang most of the songs we requested. I ordered the 4 ribs and the cucumber salad which was spicy! Mickey himself came around to say hi and later played with the band. It was a good night out with good food and drinks.

Okay, it had been a long day, and after a week on the road, I am really tired of eating out. I was working across the street and decided to check the place out. Menu was not as extensive as I had hoped and not really wanting another heavy on the meat meal I was ready to move on to... More

When I left Boise in 1981, people there had no idea what "barbecue" is. To them, "to barbecue" was to cook hamburgers, hot dogs or steaks on a grill. To many there, barbecue is still a verb, not a noun; but, much to my surprise, one can now buy real barbecue in the Treasure Valley. I say that having lived... More

Was completely disappointed in the food. No real BBQ flavor - tasted like a cross between liquid smoke and a sort of gas flavor. The wait staff had five different people come over and ask if there's anything else we needed, obviously out of forced training, all but one seemed insincere. But when I asked for a rare prime rib... 21st wedding anniversary, JULY 4 2014, and my handsome husband always takes me somewhere new and exciting for our celebration dinner. Handsome husband born and reared in Meridian, married to a genuine southern belle, decides what could be better than taking his lovely wife to dinner at Mickey Rays. Right now I'm considering a change to our anniversary celebration 'cause,... More

We were just driving around Eagle, spied a Mexican restaurant so we parked. As we got out of the car we were overwhelmed with a barbecue smell. "MickeyRays" has only the name on the building, with no hint of what is within. We were there after lunch so we were the only diners. The room is comfortable and there is... More
