I've visited CdA a few times and am always freaked by how pricey everything is... And not that great. This is actually THE BEST of the brunch places I've eaten at, but still, just "o.k." Sure wish CdA could attract some good chefs... It's such a paradise...'would love to have some ambrosia to match it. Ok, so I had the... More

We stopped by here based on the internet reviews and weren't disappointed. We arrived about 7 AM when they opened and were immediately seated. The waitress staff was very friendly. We ordered corned beef hash, steak, eggs, and northwest potatoes. The sourdough bread was very good and came with homemade lemon curd (incredible) and raspberry? jam. Everything tasted extremely fresh,... More

Small, intimate café in Coeur d'Alene. I'm a traditionalist for breakfast (2 eggs over easy, hashbrowns, bacon and white toast), however I was talked into trying the Rosemary bread for toast! FABULOUS! We sat at in a little courtyard in the early morning. This is a don't miss for breakfast! You won't be disappointed!

This restaurant is always rated high on tripadvisor, so I decided to take my family. No hostess to greet us. We wanted to sit outside, and needed to push 2 tables together. We were told no. Sat inside, which was ok. Coffee cups and silverware needed to be exchanged due to not being cleaned of the food of the previous... More

The place looks very homely when you first arrive. I think there is was only one person working, so we had to track her down to be seated. The service was average because she was so busy trying to seat us, take our orders, etc. This is one of the top rated breakfast places but other than the food I... More

The place is small, but the food and service are worth the wait. The chef's choice of fresh and unique ingredients reflects his interest in presenting the best dining experience he can. Rumor is that the place has it owns farm to raise the meat served. If true, that is serious quality control. Not open for dinner except for special... More

Reluctantly leaving Coeur D'Alene on our cross-country/Canada road trip, we squeezed in a late morning visit to The Garnet Cafe for some nourishment and caffeine...who wouldn't? The outdoor seating was full so we took seats in one of the cozy dining rooms - still bright and filled with amusing art and artifacts. The breakfast servings are huge, and we easily... More

We visited The Garnet Cafe twice on our recent vacation in Coeur D'Alene. It was by far, the best breakfast we had during our week there. The menu was great, as was the service. Cozy artsy atmosphere. And... they had really GREAT coffee (Honduras). I will definitely be going back.

Visited over the weekend and we really enjoyed our meal. Fresh ingredients with high quality, great service and exceeded expectations. We lucked out on timing on a Saturday morning, when we left a line was building down the sidewalk. Service is fast and efficient with no shortcuts on food prep. Highly recommend!!

If you're looking for a perfect breakfast place in Coeur d'Alene, this is it! Great service and really delicious original food. You can do straight up eggs and bacon or try duck sausage or even do gluten free. Great place!
