Nice Birthday Visit

My husband and I joined our best friend last night for dinner for my husband's 72nd birthday. Tapas are served until 5. Half price wine was available til 5:30. We ordered linguini and clams, gumbo, and Bistro steak. We all enjoyed our meals. Service was very good. There was an excellent... read more

A couple who were guests at our beach house on Lake Coeur d'Alene wanted to go into town for lunch so we selected the Bistro on Spruce, and everyone was delighted with the place. The decor is charming, with rustic wood and stone but has a contemporary feel too. They have a good selection of European and domestic wines, and... More

Always and interesting menu, consistent quality and service. I like the appetizers for the varied selections, and innovative style. Great date place, or family depending on the time of day.

First impression was awesome. We walked in the door and a gentleman sat us immediately and the best seat would be a booth in my opinion. The waitress came right over and got our orders. We ordered a cubano (YUM) and a roasted turkey (YUM). Will stop back in when in the area. Everything from the interior decorating to the... More

We stopped for lunch and found a GREAT waitstaff and a delicious menu surrounded by a lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend the corned beef hash. Homemade with strings of caramelized onions snaking through freshly shaved corned beef and sliced potatoes. Hubby's hamburger received the same high level of culinary attention. Coffee superb. Iced tea fresh. What a delightful afternoon. No... More

Went here last year for St. Patricks Day on March 17th. Sign outside said come in for corned beef and a cold Guiness. Ordered the corned beef...it was lunch only....man was I disappointed. Then I ordered a cold Guiness....guess what....they were out of it at 5:30 in the afternoon on St. Patty's Day. We thought about leaving, but did not.... More

After opening to tremendous reviews a few years ago, the Bistro on Spruce went into a decline where food and service quality went down considerably. I am happy to announce that they have found their way back to fantastic service (thank you Josh!) and great food. Their fish tacos are particularly good. Ask for some of the creamy garlic sauce... We almost walked out. This would have been a first for us; however, when the service is soooooooo poor... the waitress forgot out menus, twice, and then she forgot that she had a kid's menu. Two quesadillas and two sandwiches took 45 minutes to get to our table. Bad experience. We won't be back, even though the food was actually... More

A little bummed the fire place wasn't working but thats not what we were there for. First read of the menu and I was already pleasantly surprised to find unique breakfast and lunch items! There was something for all of our tastes and I got to try a bite of all 8 different things we ordered from irish to cuban... More

Had another enjoyable lunch there with a friend who had never been there. Both of us were pleased, as I usually am. The French onion soup is always a winner, the waitstaff is always helpful, knowledgeable and heads-up. One of our very favorite Coeur d'Alene eateries.
