Quality Pub Grub

We have been twice to this restaurant in the last couple of weeks. First time was on a Saturday night. It was very busy and we had to wait around 20 min for a table. This said straight away that the food was good. We chose to eat from the menu. Ordering the mixed grill and a burger. Both... read more

21st February 2015. - Went for a meal at the invitaion of friends, had heard that the food and service wasn't up to much but hey - you have to try before you make your mind up. Staff not over friendly, not a major problem though being ignored whilst they discus what they will be wearing for their night out... More

Used to be a regular when it first opened. Fantastic food, with amazing cakes..HOWEVER, just lately the last 3/4 visits have been very dissapointing. Twice I have visited now and been ill afterwards both times. First time I thought it could of been something else, second time definately the food. Everytime we have been lately the order has been completely... More

Visited today and ordered the small carvery at £4.65 as this is enough for us. The meat was very nice and what a selection of vegetables all hot and tasty. The restaurant is decorated for Christmas and looks festive. The staff were friendly and cleared away our plates promptly. I had forgotten my scarf and the staff had put it... More

I have eaten here on several occasions but when I visited this week I was quite disappointed. I always used to enjoy the classic burger which used to come with fried onions as a choice. Now, although the price of the meal has gone up, they no longer serve it with onions. I asked to have onions added as a... More

Visited Birchwood Farm on a couple of occasions and yet to have a bad experience. The portions are huge (particularly the desserts!) so no chance of going hungry, and the quality doesn't suffer as a result (can highly recommend the 'farm burger'!). The staff are friendly and welcoming, the service is quick and as parents of a 7 month old... More

We've been a few times and never had a bad experience to be honest. It's nice for our daughter to be able to play whilst waiting for food. The food is always nice and good value. The fact that it is usually very busy speaks volumes in my opinion.

My husband and I went in and sat down, then went to the food queue to order. Queued back to the toilets yet only one person on(?) got to the front and ordered but tried to order drinks and this arsey woman pointed to the right of me and simply said 'over there' so I paid for my food and... More

We called in last night for a meal with the kids. It was very busy. Starters were lovely. Nacho platter to share, prawn cocktail, garlic mushrooms, pate & toast. One slight niggle...they do give you a generous helping of pate, but just 1 slice of toast, which isn't enough for all the pate. Mains, 2 surf & turf (rare) 1... More
