I've always been a huge Starbucks fan, but after moving to Boise about a year ago I thought I would give Moxie Java a chance. After multiple failed attempts I can safely say I will NEVER give Moxie Java my business again. The coffee is bland, and their price for adding soy or an extra shot is over priced. Not... More

I grabbed a cup of coffee from Moxie at the Boise Airport right before I had to take off. I just opted for black coffee with a little cream - the coffee was bland, not strong at all, and it was semi-hot. I bet McDonald's would have been a better choice for a good cup of Joe at the airport.

If you just want a quick pick me up the coffee is just run of the mill stuff, not exceptional. They use Chocolate milk in the mocha, need I say more? What happened to making it the right way?

Not really a "local" chain, but still small enough to be very friendly, and a good gathering place. A good variety of coffees and flavors.

Recommend Moxie on Glenwood and State. Try the egg and cheese wrap with the salsa. The salsa is GREAT. The egg and cheese wrap at Glenwood is different than the other stores and is much better. Oh, don't forget your coffee.

we stay next door at the springhill suites, and hubby goes next door to bring coffee back. not only is the coffee great, but humm...tape on the lid. why, because the barista didn't want it to spill and keep some of the heat in. well, done, the small things in life are the best..bravo

I have tried Moxie on another trip to Boise and I didn't have a great experience so I thought maybe it was just me but it really wasn't. Not sure how many shots of espresso come in a 16 oz iced mocha but both times mine tasted like watered down coffee milk. Just not good. If there is a next... More

Moxie is the original Boise coffee house and has a following but the drinks always lack consistency. Milk is reheated multiple times, syrups are free poured and espresso shots are frequently kept cold on hand and mixed in. Despite wanting to support locals this place just lacks the consistency of Starbucks or the quality of Flying M or the other... More

I just happened to come across Moxie Java during their happy hour! Not the BEST coffee, but good none the less. I prefer my cup of joe on the stronger side, so will add extra espresso next time
